I can understand not being able to play it on SoV because he does not color match, but once it is there I believe it would stick because his SA doesn't specify a brigade just it's verse.  So I should be able to give it to him a-la Coat of Many Colors and it should stick.

It only sticks if he's the same brigade.
May you prosper greatly!

Because it tries to activate on Saint, sees a color mismatch and fizzles, believe me this is the way it was ruled against me three years ago when I tried it. Even having cheribum in battle with him doesn't help because enhancements always activate on specific characters.

Where does it say that?  Cards like Saint of Virtue and Goliath and all "pseudo" warrior class cards have no definition in the REG, since the card is silent on its brigade color what is the source of the ruling?

Can you re-phrase that sentence I'm confused by what your question is.
The bottom line is that enhancements must always be activated on a character of matching brigade, Spiritual Warfare on Saint (Purple) does not follow that rule.

and Saint's ability does not have the critical "regardless of brigade" function.

That doesn't make sense to me, since the SoV is already overriding the game rules but I will not argue the consensus.  Schaef what you said makes sense I guess, I just assumed that if no brigade was specified in a "sticking" ability(since I have run into so few) that it defaulted to whatever brigade you wanted as long as you met the "sticking" abilities requirement.  I get it now.

No, because other cards that are retained by the user also have to color-match.  For example, if I have Saph and Ishbibenob banded into battle, I can play a gray weapon, and the game rules say a character can hold it, but Ishy doesn't color match.

Another example, The Strong Force says you can play an Enhancement with a capture ability, but it still has to color match a character in battle, it can't be anything just because I have a card saying I can play this card "out of turn".

Haha, no, thats GOOD. Can you imagine? That would be a requirement for every deck... who wants more pre-block ignore, especially at that magnitude?

If it were that easy, I wouldnt use anything else. But, I have tried it, and six turns of set aside is just a bit too much to get it to work. Plus, all the anti ignore stuff, and the ease of killing Crown of Thorns makes this kinda weak now.

Gold shield requires that I block. So if by chance I run into Heroless than I'm toast.  :D

A Green/Gray deck running Prophets and Self-Capture can splash Saint in very easily.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!
