Does anyone use this fortress? I have never seen it played and wondered why? Doesn't it protect you from evil cards?

The Name of the Lord (AW)
Type: Fortress • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Set this fortress aside. If you have initiative, you may interrupt the battle and place your Hero on this fortress. Hero is protected from effect. Each time you rescue a Lost Soul, return one Hero to your territory. This fortress is protected from discard. • Play As: If you have initiative, you may interrupt the battle and place your Hero in this fortress. Hero is protected from effect. Each time you rescue a Lost Soul, return one Hero to your territory. This fortress is protected from discard. The Name of the Lord may hold any number of Heroes. • Identifiers: Play to set-aside area. • Verse: Proverbs 18:10 • Availability: Angel Wars booster packs (Ultra Rare)

You have a point. If "Hero is protected from effect" he should also be protected once he returns to the territory. This could be broken.

That's a good point. It does need play-as (not errata, because as written it's merely ambiguous, not definitively the way you're saying it works).
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Actually, the reason I've never played w/ this fortress or seen anybody else use it is because I always thought it never worked. That 'Hero is protected from effect' part of the ability should also protect the Hero from returning to territory. :P

I think the protected from effect part would protect from your opponent but i don't know because sometimes you can't effect your own cards.
