What is your top 10 card list ...

I tried to search for this, but found nothing.  I am new to Redemption.  Come from mainly YuGiOh, Pokemon, and a little Magic.  My 9 year old son got me hooked in playing CCGs, and I have now found Redemption, which I really like.

We are in the process of trying to learn this game, and having a list of some of the more important cards would be a big help for any new player.

So, if you would, please post your top 10 (or 20, 50, whatever) list of cards you like for game play.

Thanks, in advance.

Greg

Hi Greg!

Welcome to the boards! I would be glad to suggest some cards you should add to your decks but it helps to first know what colors you already have. Have you bought a starter deck? If so, what are the letters at the bottom left hand corner of the card (C/D, E/F, G/H) If not, I would suggest picking up a 10th anniversary starter set and then going from there. Where you from so we can make sure to let you know about possible playgroups in the area?

It depends what colors you want to use in your deck. However, you want to make sure yo have these 8 dominants in your deck, typically:

Son of God
New Jerusalem
Angel of the Lord
Guardian of your Souls
Christian Martyr
Burial
Destruction of Nehushtan
Falling Away

Welcome to Redemption.

Welcome to the forum.  Due to the nature of Redemption (with decks being focused on specific brigades), this question is hard to answer.  Some things are obvious though.

Son of God
New Jerusalem
Angel of the Lord
Christian Martyr
Destruction of Nehustan

These 5 cards are in practically every deck that people play.  Aside from these, there are several cards that also go into just about any deck very nicely:

Wall of Protection
Confusion of Mind
Captured Ark
Kingdoms of the World (Priests version)
Hormah

These would probably be the 10 cards that just about any deck should include.  Thankfully, only 2 (DoN and WoP) are expensive (~$15)

Hello and welcome to Redemption and the boards.  When I started playing the game I found looking at deck lists of the top decks from past National tournaments to be very helpful in understanding what the top cards and strategies are for Redemption.

Tim Maly graciously lists them on his website for the Redemption community.  Just click on the link "Sample Decks".

Welcome to the forums!

I would concur with the opinions expressed by others that it is hard to answer your question without knowing what brigades you would like to play.  If you want, I'm sure we could come up with lists of the top 10 cards for each brigade of good and evil.

Along with the list that Prof Underwood made, I would like to add a few cards that are used in a large number of decks.

Unholy Writ
Dragon Raid, New Jerusalem (site), or Promised Land
Holy Grail
Unknown Nation

What part of the country do you reside in?

What you guys have been telling me is exactly what I was looking for, the staples of a majority of decks.  Just like in YuGiOh every deck has Mystical, Heavy Storm, Mirror Force, etc.

I live in northwestern NC near Winston Salem, and have been trying to find somewhere to play.  Anyone know of anywhere?

Oh, and we have the G/H starter set.

You just missed the NC State tournament held this past weekend in Hayesville, NC, at the home of the creator of the fine game of Redemption!   :o  You are 249.12 miles from Cactus Games.  Imagine that!
