Please tell me if my logic is faulty.
Since one member of the team picks to defend, would it make sense to have one team deck be completely defense while the other is entirely offense?
Just wondering...

but the defense member of the team can pick to defend?
I just want to make sure that's how it works

In my area, the team of Matt Archibald and Jonathan Pequinot won OH state with 2 balanced decks.  Then the team of Rob Mulye and Mark Underwood won MW Regionals with 1 defense deck and 1 offense deck. only because Matt could not use jonathans access sites, otherwise there would have been major PWNAGE at that table by Matt and Jon...!  So again, both ways can be successful.

It is also possible that 2 offense heavy decks could win in theory (although that doesn't seem to be the trend).  2 defense decks probably could not win simply due to time constraints.

I disagree with what is posted. Despite results pointing towards defense winning (who cares about results ?), I feel offensive decks are more effective. Teams is a very broken category, as you can be winning 4-0 before everyone has gotten a turn without the use of some silly COMBO COMBO COMBO. Knowing that is possible, it becomes my goal. The less cards I allow my opponent to play, the greater my chances at winning become. My logic for teams is simple: If you are able to attack every turn with a high success rate (yes, even the largest of defenses will struggle to hold a large offense) and you're able to get a few simple blocks (2x Uzzah, 2x Unholy Writ, Doms, and then standalone characters..... I ran a character based defense so it would be unlikely I'd be caught without a block early on) you'll be off to a lead very quickly. From that point  and on, you'll just plow thru your deck with drawing cards to get SOG and NJ.

The teams deck my partner, Ring Wraith and I used at 3 tournaments (IA State, MN State, NC Regionals) have held up very well. I believe we've only lost 2 games: one of which was due to a poor draw (despite 2 first turn POCs) and one of which was due to a poorly built deck (not the concept, the execution. Our deck was splattered by FBTN. Since then we've added some counters and it hasn't been a problem) with 1 tie (a game which we would have almost positively won if we had another turn) although we've only won one tournament.

You're right, I forgot about our game against Martin and Chris. We've played more than 10 games, fo' sho'....
