I play with Tartaros in almost every deck I build.

Do you play with Tartaros is your decK?  Please post why you do, or why you don't.  I'm curious

Very few people play with more than one demon (and many play with none) so unless you have a demon-defense that does a lot of self-discarding, it's rarely worth the card slot. There are some interesting niche strategies that it can be used with, but they are by no means popular or proven effective.

No one plays it because no one knows how it works. Also that's Jordan.

Can be a useful card, but I wouldn't think it is worth a card slot. Too many variables and stipulations.

I don't, mostly because I run defense heavy decks. Most of my offense is either SLOW or wouldn't be harming demons to put them in tartatos.

Head colds are contagious.....playing Tartaros is not.   ;)

I 1+ Jordan's post because I agreed with all that he said, and he represented my view of not playing Tartaros well.

No worries. I'm plenty accustomed to being called by my older brother's name. The weirdest thing is when people who don't even know Justin, or even that I have a brother named Justin, have called me that.

Very few people play with more than one demon (and many play with none) so unless you have a demon-defense that does a lot of self-discarding, it's rarely worth the card slot. There are some interesting niche strategies that it can be used with, but they are by no means popular or proven effective.

Is it safe to assume that most people's one demon if they even play with one is King of Tyrus?

Tartaros says:"All demons that holder captures, discards, or has in Land of Bondage are placed in Tartaros. Release one demon to holder's territory from Tartaros when one of holder's demons wins in battle."  If you have a King of Tyrus, and my hero capture your King of Tyrus would go into my Tartaros site, and if my demon successfully blocks, I could release your King of Tyrus to my field of play (in which case I could use your King of Tyrus to defend against you)

so unless you have a demon-defense that does a lot of self-discarding, it's rarely worth the card slot.

If I build a deck where some of the demons are what I call suicide characters (good for one battle only since I intend to see them die) with Tartaros I can get them back when another of my demons successfully blocks, thus giving the suicide character the opportunity to commit suicide more than once per game.

All that is true (that KoT is the one demon that some people play with in most cases). The problem is that KoT has a problem outlined in a well-known Toby Keith song (well, it's well-known if you or someone you spend a lot of time with likes country music): He ain't as good as he once was. He is not even included in many of today's top defense due to all of the CBN/CBP enhancements/Evil Character negation going around nowadays. So setting up a combo that might allow you under some conditions to use your opponent's KoT is a lot of work/card space for a little potential reward.

The problem with suicide demons is that they are most often designed to be dispatched by your opponent. Trembling Demon, for example, is best used when beaten by the numbers of your opponent. You are much better off nowadays using Wandering Spirit and Gates of Hell to get back your demons.

I had a demon deck that for a while utilized Tartaros (this was probably before Wandering Spirit came out), until a situation came up where I was hurt by my own Tararos. It does have a bit of utility in stopping your opponent from demon recursion, but usually not important enough for decks to include it.

Yes you can steal your opponents demons, but that is rarely terribly useful for the reasons already mentioned.
