Title: Stopping site lockout
Post by: Tyreese on July 14, 2010, 12:08:25 AM
Hey, I was wondering what the best way/strategies to stop a site-lockout deck would be?

Thanks in advance :)

Build site access into your deck either with charachter SA, Access sites or artifacts that grant access.

You could also pair this with enhancements that steal sites from your opponent such as jacobs dream, land dispute and dannites attack.

well i really love trumpet blast, or cards on defense that take site (land dispute, danites attack, etc.)

Forget enhancements, use characters. Locus from the Pit is always fun.

Also anything that will generate LS after their prep phase.

Yeah like malchus and TAS.

I use a silver offense, and I usually have no trouble accessing opponent's sites (Angel @ Jerusalem, Angel in Path and DragonRaid for good measure).  ;)

Angel of Deliverance also has access to all sites, so that's three for silver, one being NT (so they can't be stopped by Golden Calf).

Red Warriors are also able to decimate site lockout, especially with Caleb, Dodai, Recruiting Officer and Centurion at Capernaum (the only other NT "access to all sites" hero in the game).  Warrior's Spear helps too :)

why would Warrior's Spear help?

Even if somehow your red warriors were site locked (or there's just no lost soul to rescue at all), they could battle challenge with warrior's spear and hope to get a lost soul.  If you lost the spear you could even use A Soldier's Prayer to get it back again.  I have gotten several lost souls due to Warrior's Spear.  Red is a lot better than people give it credit for, in my opinion.

I agree Red is awesome against sitelock. It's just naturally built into their cards.

But evil probably has the best site counters, like Land Dispute, TAS, and Set Fire.

Best counter to site lock, running site lock.

those have to be the most boring games ever, turtle vs turtle. at least with tgt vs tgt you get a quick and painless death.

amen! that is always the quickest and funnest way to play
(unless you both only draw evil characters for the first 10 or so turns like I did in my first type 2 tourney.) It is the only game I have ever timed out with 2 garden tomb decks.

wouldn't a good idea be to NOT use dragon raid?
i think there's a site (Pergamum?) that prevents dragon raid, which i'm gonna guess they will have.
I guess you could have dragon raid for when pergamum isn't there, but also have the site New Jerusalem. I don't think they can stop that one.
Just my  :2cents:

Yes, but if you are just one or two lost souls shy of victory, you can Burial or Son of God the lost soul that is in Pergamum, then use Dragon Raid for that crucial last soul.  Then hope that they don't draw a lost soul on their next turn (if there is one) to put inside Pergamum.  I've seen this work many times.

Better yet, just use Dragon Raid and Pergamum yourself.  :)

That is why I am using The End of the World, and Promise Land in my decks now, and better yet, is to use heroes with site access. Thanks.

Just remember, a good site-lock deck will always have ways to deal with access sites (both brown and black site-lock decks have cards)

They usually have good ways to deal with sites and artifacts.  Heroes with access to all sites are harder to deal with, and go in all my single color decks.

now with the disciples set out use fishing boat to have all of your disciples get access.

How about Benedictus, huh? That's a real kick in the pants for sitelock. Unnegatable access for all heroes for a turn - and recurrable, too.

I think altogether Disciples hits sitelock very hard. I never even see sitelock decks in my area anyway, so I'm not sure whether that's a good or a bad thing, but not being able to even make a rescue attempt is never fun, so I retain a generally positive attitude towards this.

Best counter to site lock, running site lock.
the one time that happened to me, I was running a Zebulun site lock. it was game over before it started, since I relied on them losing all access before I rescue..

Best counter to site lock, running site lock.
Or, rather than locking, using your own sites for access.  Then you don't have to worry about Pergamum/two time usage of NJ/PL

Battle challenges are nice. Use cards like Ehud and Jael to make your opponent block even when it's not a rescue attempt, then play a card like the 1/1 gold one that discards two sites (I can't believe I am forgetting the name of it). Veangeance of something?

The regular Redemption Card images are in the REG.

I think the only connection is the iconic "I'll be back" line.

So they made this statue out of wood? Because I have only seen statues made out of stone or plaster.
Title: Re: Stopping site lockout
Post by: uthminister [BR] on September 16, 2010, 10:14:54 PM
It was called Terminator Jesus first by a guy in my group who saw it in flames and only half of it had caught at that point so it was half metal and half "man" so to speak. It obviously had a steel frame and was then covered with wood and chicken wire and then filled in with a foam resin type of material. It cost a bunch to build and unfortunately the community knows how much now and has begun to wonder why the church didn't use that money to help others. To make matters worse, the "He'll be back" line was from the church marque out front along with a public statement by the pastor and her husband that they will rebuild bigger and better this time...check out the statue before and during the fire here...
