Is there any way to have the Early church Simon the Magician band to a Judas Iscariot with hating the light on him?
-
Babel is one- you could play it off of Philetus in a heretic defense, or else just use Mask of Worldliness
Even better actually would be Lurking!
-
Awesome, because a judas with cbn hating the light would be a super powerful play!

The problem is that placed EEs are super squishy. Live Coal isn't as staple-y as it used to be, now that NT offenses are more common, but still.
Now, if only there was an evil character with a TC ability that protected EEs (maybe Black ones?) in territories from discard...
EDIT: I also wanted to point out that you don't need Judas in battle when you play HtL on Simon. Not sure if that is why you thought you needed both in battle. Just play HtL on Simon and place on your Judas in territory.

I meant to have bring the light on judas, not Simon.
-
Yes, that is what jmhartz meant. You play HtL in battle on Simon (so presumably it's CBN) and then you place it on Judas in your territory.

Oh ok, I like that a lot better. Thanks for clearing that up. Would it then always be cbn, even if Simon was not in battle?

Yes! Cards are either CBN when played, or they are not. CB-anything is not a status that a card can gain or lose later.
