Persian with an ability like.....

If blocking a player with more than one hero in set aside, choose one set aside hero to return to territory, discard set aside card. Hero returns at face value with no gained abilities.

definite persian setaside manipulation is a splendid idea.

darius and cyrus are a must.

darius also gets to search for darius decree and punish greek characters...
Quote
A major event in Darius's life was his expedition to punish Athens and Eretria and subjugate Greece. Darius added to the empire by conquering Thrace and Macedon, invading the Saka, which were Iranian tribes who had invaded Medes and even killed Cyrus the Great.
...and it seems he should kill Cyrus the Great.
Quote
prior to seizing power Darius served as a spearman (doryphoros) in Cambyses' Egyptian campaign (528-525 BCE)
seems he would be weapon class too.

He also supressed babylonian revolts led by Nebuchadnezzar III if that would matter...

it seems also that he tried to control the greeks and they summitted voluntarily until they overthrough him at the Battle of Marathon...
Quote
In 550, at the Battle of Marathon, the Persians were defeated by a heavily armed Athenian army with 9,000 men who were supported by 600 Plataeans and 10,000 lightly armed soldiers led by Miltiades. The defeat at Marathon marked the end of the First Persian invasion of Greece.

He had funded the restoration of the Jewish temple which had originally been decreed by Cyrus the Great, presented favour towards Greek cults which can be seen in his letter to Gadatas, and supported Elamite priests. He had also observed Egyptian religious rites related to kingship and had built the temple for the Egyptian God, Amun.

Xerxes(persian)- his son

Cyrus the Great(persian) also known as Cyrus II not to be confused with Cyrus I - I think he should be a hero, maybe?with an ezra reference

artifact(or Covanent?): Cyrus's decree
something about building Z- temple?

'Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia: All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD, the God of heaven, given me; and He hath charged me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whosoever there is among you of all His people--the LORD his God be with him--let him go up.' (Ezra 1:1-4)

“In the first year of King Cyrus, Cyrus the king issued a decree: ‘Concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, let the temple, the place where sacrifices are offered, be rebuilt and let its foundations be retained, its height being 60 cubits and its width 60 cubits; with three layers of huge stones and one layer of timbers. And let the cost be paid from the royal treasury. ‘Also let the gold and silver utensils of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took from the temple in Jerusalem and brought to Babylon, be returned and brought to their places in the temple in Jerusalem; and you shall put them in the house of God.’ (Ezra 6:3-5)

I wish the fruits of the spirit cards(Galatians 5:22-23) were reprinted with special abilities and a theme. Maybe I will come up with special abities of my own.

Also, CBN cards should focus on indirect game manipulation and NOT be more battle winners.

Battles are more fun like this:

"Ha!  I'm playing {battle winner}."
"Oh yeah?!?  I'm interrupting that and playing this {battle winner}."
"Go ahead.  I'm interrupting and preventing that."

Sort of like a high-stakes poker game with lots of raises.   ;)

I agree.  The battle winners in this set will be interrupt-able.  :)

Although I agree is CBN annoying for battle winners, I really do like the conditional CBN, like on Zeal for the Lord.  It adds strategy; do I play my awesome battle winner on a normal Priest and chance wasting it or do I wait for Phin for pwnation!?

I wouldn't mind seeing some battle winners which are good by themselves, but you could also pay a cost to make it CBN (or CBP or CBI even. don't always need CBN...)  I think that would add to the game more than just more typical battle winners (that's kinda boring.)

So awesome you mean ;) I think more EC's that are protected from things in battle (Ala Prince of Persia and Judas) would be cool.

I think there should be EC's that have protection at the cost of giving some kind of protection to the Hero(es) he's fighting, like, "Protect all characters in play from discard abilities. Cannot be interrupted by a good card."

By the way, I have very few complaints about CBN characters. In fact, I like them to be CBN most of the time unless their ability is super powerful.

The problem with enhancements that have CBN in conditions that YOU control is that you can create a deck with nothing but those combos (see Gabe's offense from a couple years ago, and Tim Maly's defense from a few years ago).  Battles almost never lasted beyond the first enhancement.

There will be some guaranteed CBN stuff, just not on battle winners.

There will be some conditional CBN battle winners, but the conditions will also depend on your opponent, not only on you.  (See Overwhelemed by Philistines for an example).

There will be some CBP stuff, since Captain bands are still annoying after 10+ years.

I also think that this can add strategy to the game, but I would like the conditions to be more difficult.  Instead of being CBN if played on a single character (which makes another 2-card combo for decks like Gabe's and Maly's), it could be CBN if there are 3 other Apostles in play (or something like that).  It would create a card that would be very powerful for someone who is using a particular offense or defense, but would require too many cards to be simply thrown into every deck type out there.

they are awesome for Booster Draft though.
maybe be like a Jawbone except say "If used by (insert horrid character from prophets, because all prophets cards should be banned) cannot be negated" thus going along with a Windows of Narrow Light deck, or something like that.

The next set will include cards of every brigade, but will NOT include cards for every theme or culture.  So, we cannot guarantee that what you put here will even be considered, since your culture or theme might not even get a single new card next year.  However, in case your favorite culture or brigade IS getting some cards, is there a particular weakness that you wish would be improved?

Now is the time to make your requests.  We are not looking for full card ideas, just holes you'd like to see filled.

Finish the sentence:

I wish (this culture theme) had a way to _____________ .
Well I like my Daniel Heros, and would Like more Enhancments to go with them

Translation for playtesters:

New cards with powerful abilities should require enough support cards so that they aren't abused and simply tossed into top decks without thinking.

Also I'd like to see egyptians/herods(Evil gold in general) have some way to deal with silver. Enslaved by egypt works, Moses kills an egyptian works(sometimes), but outside of that there is no way to deal with them.

Edit: Oh Rizpah's sack cloth and Temptation too. Hm, I would still like at least one more card that can hit um.
