Don't get me wrong, I LOVE themes, and I quite enjoy making them, but once you get to a certain point, they're sort of restrictive, I've played a few different Blue Genesis decks, and the offense basically comes down to the same cards, with maybe a few differences. I'd LOVE to see some way to create your own theme, like some sort of set aside, or fortress:

Set aside 2 heroes with the same reference for 2 turns, on return they can use all enhancements with the same reference as them. Or a protect fortress that has you choose a book, as opposed to affecting a preset culture.

I think something (or multiple somethings) like that would make for some interesting new decks.

I believe the not so distant future of Redemption will contain so many cards of each theme that no defense of the same theme will be exactly like the others (unless a n00b copies one of the major players' decks). At the moment, there are relatively few cards for each theme, so most of the theme decks look very similar. That's okay for now. Redemption has only recently begun to seriously develop themes, so it might take a while for them to become as I described, assuming that is the ultimate goal.

I also want to point out that although many people have suggested adding more stuff to the Musician theme, I don't think that would be very wise at this point.  We have just recently heard from Rob approving a definition of musicians that adds some significant heroes to the list (probably David, Miriam, Deborah, Barak, Moses, and Solomon).  It seems like it would be a good idea to let these guys see some playtime as musicians before we make more :)

Well, then whatever focus was previously directed towards Musicians should be redirected towards Daniel heroes. :)

Since Rob's decision was only 10 days ago, I'm not surprised.  Give it some time :)

Would you consider top 20 at nats competitively? combined with an unstable defense?

i dont see how it makes musicians anymore powerful than they already were.

I wouldn't... I think he means top 5... like does it have the possibility to win. Also, this is before Garden Tomb.  ;)

A year or two ago, I made a Musician deck that did very well. I focused on drawing early all the stuff I needed to set up one combo: Chenaniah, banded to Heman to use Protection of Angels, banded to Asaph to make it CBN and Ethan to recur it so I could use it every turn. I think I only lost one game with it against at least ten players, and I think that loss was to Gabe. I don't believe anyone ever use Household Idols against me, though. That might have hurt.

Yeah they do. They're not even CLOSE to as powerful as prophets, TGT or any other top theme. Or Ehud.  ;D

In addition to the card-swapping dynamic, another game dynamic that I would LOVE to see on a new card is a special ability that requires knowledge of the scripture on the cards, a little beyond what we already have.  Maybe something like:

"Opponent places hand face down.  Randomly select one card and read scripture to opponent.  If opponent recites the scripture reference he may draw two cards, otherwise discard selected card and one other face down card."

It might be less work to read the scripture and guess what card it is.
