I don't think there should be any dominant "staples", I would consider this a staple.

I'd only consider Doubt and Glory of the Lord a non-staple dom. (To a lesser extent, Harvest Time. That sees a lot of play, especially in top decks, however.)

doubt and gotl are far more situational doms, so that is why they are not staple. but yes, ht can be situational as well, and if you already have hopper ls and tas in your deck, it would be one of the first doms from the 'staples' to go.

This is the way Lackey gave it to me. All hail the power of Lackey!

I'm pretty sure it was ruled any version of the word "place" is allowed.  dunno the location of that ruling though.

The only true "staple dominants" are SoG, NJ, AotL, CM, and DoN.

Doubt and Glory are rarely used.
Falling Away and Guardian of Your Souls are only staples in multiplayer games.  More and more 2p decks are dropping those.
Harvest Time is not in any defense heavy decks.
Burial is probably the next closes to a staple, but it too is missing from many decks these days.

Which goes back to my point that a new dominant that killed fortresses would become a new staple, which I think we need to avoid.

I agree that we should avoid a dominant that nukes a fortress.  Fortresses need to a be a little more reliable than that.  If you want an easy way to kill High Places, just use the new hero that discards it.  :)

I have two basic problems with "High Places"...

1) The name sounds like the title of a Cheech & Chong movie.

2) I'm not sure whether my opponent will understand why I start singing "Let's get a move on. Jump in" whenever I use it to place an enhancement.

Fine.  He's an Old Testament reprinted card, so he's not EXACTLY new.  But he has a couple new features. And he's shiny!

Sounds like King Asa to me. One of the very few good kings never to be in Purple, and according to 2 Chronicles, "He removed the foreign altars and the high places, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles."

A purple King Asa reprint would be nice and would make sense.

Yeah, it does make sense, also Ahaziah is the newly reprinted EC that searches for High Places. (See the Redemption Players guide is useful for something after all.)
