SO! I've been looking at my collection and I've been thinking about running a phili defense. What are some of the cards I'll need? (Note I dont have and am not buying the Goliath promo)

Well, I have played phillys a few times, and they are a ton of fun to play! For fortresses you will need a philistine outpost to help you get your defense out in a flash. For Characters you will need a Philistine Armour Bearer, a Philistine Garrison,  a Fallen Warrior, a Twelve fingered Giant, and a Lots wife (if you can get one). Finally for enhancements you will want a bringing fear, a foolish advise, an overwhelmed by philistines, a philistine chariots and horses, a carcases can help too. Thats just the basics to a philistine deck off the top of my head, I might have missed something important though.

The giants are OK I guess, but they don't work so well with rest of the philistines. for example because their numbers are so big the never get to play the first enhancement in battle.

I understand that but lots of good heroes band (ice: disciples,Red brigade heroes Ruth heroes) I feel like big numbers could help, plus with saph(I deck) you prevent the next enhancement.

Combine them with Canaanites. It makes for a large deck if you keep a big offense, (sometimes around 80 cards) but they can do amazing things together.

Well. See we've encountered a problem.my offense is speed (disciples) and 80 cards is way to much in my opinion

I've never really had a problem playing Phillistine/Canaanites and keeping it down to 50-56 cards.  I'll try to find an old deck I built that was rather balanced that used that D, post that later (not at my own computer now).
