So I have a defense, but I'm wondering what you guys have thought (and experienced) to be the best combo offense, 5-15 cards. Judges with Judges Seat, Jehoida with Feast of Trumpets and A-Bom, Heroless... what's the best small combo offense that works the most reliably against the widest variety of deck with the fewest counters?
-
Job and Job.
-
Zebby's temp priests, throw up Cov. with Levi & Cov with phineas
You've got an unstoppable Joshua with plenty of battle winners.
15 cards - can't be captured, discarded, or removed, access to all sites.
Zebby's Temp
Lampy
Book of the Cov
Cov w/ Levi
Cov w/phineas
Joshua the High priest
Jaddua Son of Jonathon
Jonathon Son of Joiada
Joiada son of Eliashib
Eliashib
Joiakim
Trumpet Blast
Zeal
Scapegoat
Passover & Unleavened Bread

Job and Job.
I think I'll have to cast my vote for this. Job is beast, and he takes less than 5 cards.
-
How do you make a deck completely based on him?
-
Easy. Put him in you deck. :)
-
Okay... so is this a joke? I don't see how I'm going to win battles...
Anyone have a serious idea?
-
Job, Dust and Ashes, Job's Faith, Job Overcomes.
-
Okay... so is this a joke?
You've seen the Disciples cards, right?
-
Job, Dust and Ashes, Job's Faith, Job Overcomes.
eh, you need a bit more than that. another battle winner and a Kings Sword.
-
That's awesome. That just might be the winner. ;D
-
I'm biased towards heroless, mostly due to the fact mine hasn't lost all 2 games i've played since disciples came out ;) Job is strong but needs a good amount of enhancement backing.
-
And I would make sure to have a Holy Grail in case something goes horribly awry and you lose your Job. You might not have to worry about this as much after the recession is over, though. ;)
-
Actually, it's Job, Dust and Ashes, Seraphim, Striking Herod, Job's Faith, Abraham's Descendant, and Jubilee.
-
So what gets rid of evil characters? Like, if they have Leviathan, what stops them? Just Dust and Ashes?

angel of the Lord.

How about Job's Faith? That's even better. :P
-
I've yet to play Job's Faith against someone that has 4 Evil Enhancements in hand, at least one of which wins without Discarding or Capturing.

I'd say something but I don't count. (Though it was Lambo who played it against me)
-
Wait, but if they block with a low character they have initiative, right? So they could play a convert card? Or interrupt the battle and then capture you?

if they have a convert card that keeps you that way (corrupted), then he's harmed and goes back to Dust and Ashes.

Either of those will send you to Dust and Ashes, and you get to try again next battle (them down an ITB and a Convert/Capture).
-
Angel at Shur (promo) and Angel of Warning to get Job, Dust and Ashes, Chamber, and use I am Holy to help theme.

Throw in TSA for early rescues/more IAholy abuse.
-
TSA with cards to play on him is beast.
-

why Abraham's Descendant?
-
It's another way to recur. You have Job's Faith, Jubilee, and Abraham's Descendent, and with no evil cards in their hand, that's 5 ls with sog and nj.
-
I keep thinking about the Golgotha + Abraham's Descendant. I forget about the first part.
-
Well noah's ark is fun but not reliable.(You need ten slots max I would say)
-
Okay... looking over the Job cards... how can you beat this? Cannot be Negated banding? Lol.
-
An infinite Manasseh block assuming Abraham's Descendant is in his Discard, CBN banding with at least 23 defense (such as Manasseh>WS><Gomer>KoT), Set Fire on an ill-prepared Job player's D&A, or Convert a Gold Shield bearer to a Hero and Gold Shield Job to an off-colour (make sure your have a character with less than 12 offense and more than 6 defense).
-
He can be converted? I thought he would be protected from that...
-
You can do it while his SA is inactive (side-battles) or Negated (CoM, Gold Cow).
-
Ark of the Cov and I am Justice solve the banding chain problem.
-
Assuming they don't have Torment or HT+Wandering Spirit involved (WS>SoT>Salome>Antipas>Herodias will beat Job even with Ark/IaJ). They can also chump block to use up Ark/IaJ (conveniently, Manasseh can chump block in addition to being part of a numbers block).
-

I'm pretty sure that Dust and Ashes would collect a Job converted by Gold Shield. Anything that an evil card does to Job is harm, so conversion, even to a new hero brigade, would send him there. Then in hand he gets reset.
-
Notice that I specified a Gold Shield bearer that has been Converted himself (making Gold Shield a Good Enhancement and not Harmful to Job).
-
Interesting concept.
Me likes.
Is there any card to get those enhancements back?
-
abraham's descendant. jubilee.
-
oh. but abes descendant doesn't work right?
-
oh. but abes descendant doesn't work right?
That's what I thought at first, but the card has no Genesis qualification on it, so it works just as well (probably better) on Job as on anyone else.

Abe's Descendant is crucial for a Job deck. It gets rid of the one card that can target Dust and Ashes, Set Fire, as well as any placed enhancement negating Job's ability.
-
Technically ANB can target Dust and Ashes also. So done right you can Confusion D&A out after an ANB shuffle, thus making Job newbish again.
-
Done right you should have an end-game recurable defensive combo for any good defense-heavy deck...
-
Watchful Servant
The New Covenent
Brass Serpent
Meeting the Messiah
Maybe throw in phineas zeal.
End of Story
-
I said defensive... also that doesn't leave you many options if they have CP + Golgotha.

Watchful servant happens to be in the same brigade with Vengeance of eternal fire :D
-
That's nice, it's also not in the brigade that includes Benedictus.

Exactly. I found a way to get around it... but I kind of have to get lucky. If someone knows what to do... it won't happen, but I doubt anyone will. Haha because it's so stupid.... :D
-
I also agree job is one of the best small offenses. It's also the best offense for a 100+ t1 deck, because you don't have nearly as much of an issue with duplicate unique heroes, as the offense is mostly enhancements.
-
Okay... looking over the Job cards... how can you beat this? Cannot be Negated banding? Lol.
Forgotten History/Wonders Forgotten could nuke Job's Faith.

play Abe's Descendant during the discard phase after Job's Faithing. then they can't.
