You use taking egypt's wealth to steal your opponent's HP and then use it and rip it! How amazing is that?! ;D
-
How many people even use HP?
-
Oh me me! pick me!
-
I know it's almost no possibility... but it's still pretty awesome if you pulled it off. Especially just like against your friend or something. :D
-
There will be plenty of HPs at Nats this year in T2. ;)
I might just have to make a "meanness" deck. :P

I have a feeling T1 will have quite a few as well....I mean, seriously!
-
You could totally base a deck off of Ehud+immune+taking wealthx5+highway. That would be awesome! ;D
-
With Storehouse, yes....
-
Tim reed first did this (that I saw him do it) he made a brown/gold deck when G/h came out for JUST this purpose.

Now the question is, was it very successful?
-
I think doing that to someone else's cards is seriously uncool, but that's just me. I barely like destroying my own property but to have someone else destroy it...not cool at all.

At winning? no gold wasn't a powerhouse back with g/h, did he tear hp? yes.

If my opponent didn't want me to rip their HP a little monetary inducement might convince me not to. ;)
Seriously, though the ripping part of HP's special ability has been visited and revisited and revisited. Rob wants the card ripped when used. As a player, if I put HP in my deck, I have to realize that my opponent may use it against me. It's one of the drawbacks of the card.
-
And the odds are miniscule. Since this is the only card that can grab HP and you have to have it in your hand, the only risk is when:
a). opponent is playing gold and not some other defense
b). opponent bothered to include this card - difficulty bonus for doing it just to fish for your HP
c). he has to know when you have it in your hand

Oh I understand the need for it being ripped and that's a chance that you take (and are willing to do it if it's in your deck). The part of someone else doing it just rubs me the wrong way. I had one in my deck and didn't rip it a single time at Nats...I just wanted the option if the game was on the wire. However, if someone else did it and took the enjoyment of the ripping. I don't know it just sets with me wrong.
As for your statistics Schaef, with my kind of luck....that kind of stuff always happens against me. My opponent always has what they need at my most inconvenient of times.
I see the logic, I see the unique and powerful strategy behind it. I just don't like it. Like MJB suggested, I would somehow try to bribe them not to rip it because if one my cards are to be ripped...I want to be the one ripping it.
-
As stated before, I believe the odds will be more than miniscule at this year's Nats. With the new Haman promo, brown should be one of the most used defenses in Type 2. HP will show up a lot. The fact that Judges has become a viable offense for T2 means that Taking Egypt's Wealth has more of a chance to be used effectively. Shoot, the more I think about it the more I am inclined to build a gold/brown T2 deck.
As someone who abhors unsportsmanlike conduct it may seem odd that I would promote this idea. But like MJB says, I am only following the rules.
And it would be icing on the cake if I could beat my son's tally of four torn HPs at 2005 Nats, especially if they're not mine! :D

Haman Promo? Can has spoiler?

Haman Promo? Can has spoiler?
Hey Pol,
Most people know the abilities and everything from the newest RTS download.
*EDIT* Gates of Jerusalem is the other promo...I tried to blow the cards up but couldn't tell which is the state promo and which is the regional promo.
-
Haman Promo? Can has spoiler?
Not a spoiler if one state tournament has already occurred. ;)

He is awesome, way OP'D.

Kings of Judah
There are specifically no Kings or Queens of Judah currently referenced by other Redemption® cards. However, for future reference, the following are kings or queens of Judah:
• (Good): King Amaziah, King Asa, King Azariah (Uzziah), King Hezekiah, King Jehoshaphat (Kings) or King Jehoshaphat (Priests), King Joash (Kings) or King Joash (Priests), King Josiah, and King Jotham
• (Evil): Athaliah, King Abijah, King Ahaz, King Ahaziah, King Amon, King Jehoahaz (Judah), King Jehoiakim, King Jehoiakin, King Jehoram, King Rehoboam, King Zedekiah, Manasseh, and Queen Maachah

13 ECs total, right?
What brigades are they?

Hmm, do I smell a reprint?
-
There's everything but Gray and Orange...
Black: 3
Gold: 2
Pale Green: 1
Brown: 4
Crimson: 3
If I were making a defense like this, I would do Black/Crimson. Brown would be okay, but it's pretty much just based off of Athaliah (and then Zedekiah).

CBN side battles ftw!

CBN pull of Asherah Pole out of the discard pile ftw!

I forgot about the banding SA.
ftw!
-
Time to pull my crimson side battle defense out and re-tool for Nats. :)
-
Wow...so the state and regional promo are much more effective than the nats promo....I'm not quite sure what to say...

Maybe it is so all the people crying about how unfair it is for California to host a national tournament this year, though it is the first time the west has hosted nationals in 15 years, will stop crying. This way you can get the better promos by going to your state and or regional tournament.
-
Except we had the national promo released in Ohio last year, so that's not it... :-\

To go back to the original topic, I made a deck in t2 that was provisions/taking egypts wealth. I made it up and talked to my best friend josh stanley about it. He loved it and so I traded him all the cards needed for it and he started making it. It was 105 cards with big crimson EC's with banding and Mid Attacks. He provisioned his guy chose Red Dragon and played 5 Taking Egypt's Wealth, Furnace or a convert, banded another hero and played highway. Then did it all over again till your EC's were converted or dead and all your enhs were in his hand. Then he started getting smart and played with searchx1 and one coat of many colors, and he could search for cards in his deck until he ran out of heroes to withdraw. Then he could play your own enhs with coat of many colors. At the end of his turn he would drop all your enhs in storehouse. It really made you mad.
-
To go back to the unrelated topic, players will be crying if they miss nats this year, since they will miss out on the first chance to use the new set in an official tournament. You heard right: one category of play will use the new set!

Is it safe to assume that category will be draft?
-
Yeah, Bryon, I think we all Assumed that BD woudl use the set,
now if you meant to say that at least TWO categories would use the new set, then that is an interesting twist...
-
Is it safe to assume that I can pick my cards? :D

It could also be sealed deck.
-
Based on how it will come... I actually don't know. I'd say sealed would be good to use that set in though... but that's just me.
-
but Rob has already said it will not be a starter deck
-
but Rob has already said it will not be a starter deck
Rob has never released a set that was a starter deck.
He has, of course, released four sets that were starter decks.
;)
-
LOL... I never thought about it that way. ;D But booster draft still seems the most sensible.
-
Maybe BD but with the new cards as the core of the deck (what you start with)? ???
-
No possible. And I like it with roa.
-
Booster Draft will use a mix of RoA and FooF for the bases of decks. 19 different cores to increase the variety.
The new set will be used in one style of play, but that style has not yet been announced. :)
-
:o :o :o :o a new category? really!?!?!
-
Can we go back to the old style of booster draft?

As soon as the tins run out. ;)
