Has anyone tried to make a deck that makes the opponent pay the cost of good cards?
Basically you place enhancements like Holy Unto the Lord and Primary Objective which are not optional and when they rescue, you play a choose the rescuer card to make them discard from hand.
It is a little difficult to set up but it could pay off pretty big, especially if they have a full hand.
-
You can't control both sides of battle, so this is impossible.
-
Um, no its not. I thought I explained it clearly.
You place enhancements (PO, HUtL) on the heros using Tithe or Sent to Serve? and when the hero enters battle the enhancement activates, it is not optional. Additionaly the abilities on those cards are not optional so when you play a choose the rescuer card (lies) to make your opponent use that hero then they are forced to play P.O. etc. Of course they would get the benefit of that card but hopefully you plan a way to deal with that, like have only the 2-line soul available. I'm not sure if Raider's Camp would work for that.

I could see Elishama + CTR + Primary Objective being abused in t2 if you tried hard enough.
-
Oh, it's a tryhard... Doesn't seem worth the set-up for such a small rewards, you would have to discard your hand for PO as well, and Holy unto the Lord is pretty fail.
-
I agree that the set-up makes it questionable for winning but I think it could be fun to play. I think most opponents would be pretty suprised the first time you did it to them.
You dont have to discard your hand for PO; if you don't they get a lost soul which is why I suggested ways to prepare for that. For Holy Unto the Lord, it clears their hand of evil and used to mostly clear their territory so your next turn or two could pretty much be walk-ins. It is also easier to set up than PO.
-
why dont we use these combos ourselves?
-
I could see the Holy Unto the Lord idea working with a writ or something to back it up. I wouldn't try the PO idea beings Nazareth + Pigs + Placed ANB + CtR = WAAAAY better

Hey,
With all of the "place an enhancement on a character, it activates when that character enters battle" abilities the player that placed the enhancement carries it out even if an opponent controls the character it is on when that happens. So this won't work like you want it to with those cards. Sent to Serve is worded slightly differently so it might work, but I'm not sure.

That's unfortunate about the placers, but Sent to Serve definitely works.

Why is this? If i placed the card then i do what the placed card says because i control the placed card? makes since.

I must be missing the point but I don't follow your logic. Why wouldn't they work?
And Alex,
You have to use Sent to Serve to place Primary Objective on a human Silver Hero (which is very impractical) or use Tithe. Primary Objective is NT so the OT placer characters don't work. I made a T2 deck around this 2 years ago but it never panned out quite right.
