So I won the Type I 2 player category at my local today, here's my take on many of the new cards:1. Samuel is nbd. In my opinion a deck based on Samuel is one of the worst offenses, if your opponent knows what he is doing. I played two Samuel decks, first game was 5-4 (I didn't draw an ec in the first two turns, and after that he never rescued another one except for sog/nj). The second game was 5-1. He's just not that good, especially if you get an early Nazareth.2. The new red/purple cards are way too good. Amaziah is broken to the max and gets my vote for best hero of all time, Ahimelek is amazing, and Abigail creates a very good amount of consistency.3. The Egyptian cards are way good. They generate a good amount of ls, draw cards like CRAZY, and have synergy with a lot of other themes.Still want to try prophets and Judges, those will probably be my next two projects.

Depends on the emphasis. Decks emphasizing on Samuel are bad, decks using him only as the speed engine are very powerful. Even still, using Samuel and banding more than 1 guy in is going to be a bad strategy, probably.
Big bands like that can be nice. However, I've found they are hurt by FBTN.
The thing with Sam decks is that, if you tech for them, they're going to be taken down easily. However, if you don't, they're nigh unstoppable once you get going.
See, that's just it. "Sam deck" seems to be a catch-all for "any deck that happens to have Samuel and David in it." The only non-Red/Purple Heroes in my Sam deck were Sam, Armorbearer and Hur.
Actually, the only color I don't regularly see in Sam decks is blue, and to a lesser extent, teal.
Sam decks are weak again my deck. Any version. If you are attacking with Samuel and banding in anyone else, I'm going to successfully block you. Of course, in building my defense to stop this, Disciples and TGT would completely wreck me. But hey, who uses those decks anymore?
