Gohanick here with yet again another ground breaking, innovative strategy
You may know me as the person who was contemplating a 6,000 card deck (with the new deck limits implemented shortly thereafter)
or, you might know me as that pesky guy who always says he has a cool strategy but wants you to figure it out on your own.

So here I am with a cool strategy that I want to figure out on your own (with a little bit of help of course).

Here are some hints:
The main strategy of the deck is focused around Jacob's Ladder.
The defensive colors include crimson and grey/gold
If the deck works how I want it to, it's impossible for your opponent to win.

This post made me totally LOL. I made an evil combo a long time ago w/ Jacob's Ladder only to find out it was illegal.

Hmm..... What do Crimson, Grey, and Gold all have in common.... Perhaps they're the three evil brigades with Choose the Rescuer enhancements?

The Problem with Ladder is that it only works on your rescues...

Additionally, if you were hoping to use Ladder to rescue the souls in your land of bondage - the rulebook seems to state that a rescue has to be for an opponent's lost soul, its not very clear, but if need be I'm certain it can get cleared up..

I'm actually already working on a deck that uses a similar kind of strategy. I think.

Right, the problem with that idea, is that way back when Nebushaban came out, TPTB said if you exchange two lost souls, you're attempting to rescue for the exchanged soul (Additionally Prisioner Transfer is your gold/grey card) The rule was made to counter act him in Type 2 resucers choice.

It can work. I just think its very unlikely you'll pull it off before I get 3. (I hadn't thought of DoU.)

Get your regular Lost Souls into your opponent's LoB so you can rescue them with Jacob's Ladder. Shuffle/discard the traded captured characters to make it so your opponent has nothing to rescue.

It'll take too long to be effective. Also, Thorns LS kills you dead.

Yeah, I came to the same conclusion after DoU was mentioned. I just don't think it'll ever be fast enough, or reliable enough to work.

Correct.
I thought that you wanted to rescue the one you placed into your own land of bondage - before DoU was mentioned.

the thing is, if you're going to be playing with pale green anyways.... you can do some nasty things on your self lost soul wise with divination

This goes well with the anti-draw strategy that I remember you mentioning a while back, Gohanick. I'm actually working on an anti-draw deck that incorporates some of these ideas. The Anti-Angel lost soul and Hormah can be good additions as well.

But what if you never draw Jacobs latter? Then you will need a backup plan. And three evil brigades that just spells danger!

The Spy had a similar deck at nationals. I played it, and sure enough, won before the strategy worked. He ended up 4-4 I believe but it was too hard to manage to place any higher than that. Cool deck though.

Yep, this strategy has also been a common one here in the Northern NV playgroup (we call it Lost Soul Lockout). I never thought of using Jacob's Ladder though. Normally, DoU, Hormah, shuffler etc would do enough.

Good luck with it. Like LN said though, I don't think it can be super effective past the local level.
