I'm guessing most just use Thaddeus late in the game. I was wondering if it's smart not to band these two guys together because it just opens up a chance to get Thad kicked out. What do you all think about it?

I almost never band them. James the Lesser is for initiative, and Thaddeus is batting cleanup. Together, they're asking for defeated.

getting Thadd kicked out doesn't matter though, He CBI, so his SA should stick once it activates.

The protection will stick, but late in the game you might have a 1/4 guy stuck in battle with nothing left to play on him.
