Interesting way to punish TGT

RDT's attempts to use SoG to give the opponent a LS so that TGT works got me thinking. This is a purely situational combo, but could be fun.

If you have the Shuffler in your LoB and no Rescued souls and you're facing TGT, don't put any EC's down. Wait for them to attack, block with a single EC, play SoG+NJ on your Shuffler and another. You are now being Ignored in a battle-challenge, giving you unlimited initiative. This works best with Crimson or Pale Green, since they can punish a lot with unlimited initiative.

Like I said, this is a VERY situational combo, but it can hurt if the planets ever align.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Personally, I think this would work better if you could band in 2 different colors.  You'd still be ignored, and they couldn't stop you with a simple AotL.

Right, but if you banded two of the same brigade they wouldn't be ignored when you pull off Pol's combo.  That's why, if you band, it would need to be two different brigades.

Whoah, whoah, whoah, hold on a second. You can block with an EC from hand against TGT if you have no EC's in territory?!

The idea is that you haven't rescued any LSs when the ra starts, therefore TGT isn't active.  Then after you block, you take a LS with SoG, which makes TGT active.  Then you can play whatever you like because you are being ignored.

I'm surprised Type 1 is the more popular form of play then.

HAHA. This thread has totally got off point.  Sorry.  I completely agree that it was too sexual.  100% agree.  In fact, that's always the first thing I say when talking about it.  I don't understand where they get the idea that that is what I want to see when I go to see transformers.  It's quite sad.

***Returning to topic***

Doesn't this also give your opponent unlimited initiative?  Because they can chose to play an enhancement directly after yours.  So this could be a double edged sword also.

The point is that your opponent is ignoring the EC. An ignoring character never has initiative. Ignoring is kind of played like the hero "sees no evil". From the hero's perspective the EC doesn't exist. The EC can do whatever it wants to whatever or whomever it wants, except it cannot affect the hero. Only if the EC interrupts the ignore ability can the hero ever play an enhancement.

That is why ignoring is one of the most powerful abilities, but also one of the most dangerous if it is played after the block (Pre-block ignore is just powerful). You will be winning the battle while you are ignoring, but you give your opponent the ability to play whatever they want without fear of negation.

not that I disagree but I have never heard that about the "ignoring" ability.  is it in the REG?

***Having read the REG I still disagree, I cannot harm the card I am ignoring, but I can harm other cards that I am not ignoring.  No where does it say that ignoring an EC in battle grants unlimited initiative.  Is there an entry in the ruling thread that changes this?

At every point you'll look at the state of battle to determine initiative and the ignored side is losing, so they get to play.

(Pre-block ignore is just powerful)
Big power + almost no cost = lame mechanic :)

Which is why there shouldn't be any more pre-block ignore cards made....ever.  And why several of the TexP cards are great :)

Ignoring means that the ignoring character "bypasses" the evil character. So, if you ignore an EC that is in battle, and they dont negate the ability, then you win a lost soul. This means that until that ignore is removed, the opponent has initiative to play any enhancements they wish, so long as they do not target the ignoring characters.
