Wandering Spirit banded to Trembling Demon, with Crown of Thorns and Holy of Holies up. It kills Trembling Demon right off the bat (sending him under as per WS' ability), and reduces WS, to help avoid giving initiative to the opponent, stopping TD's ability. The obvious weak points are Destruction of Nehushtan on Holy of Holies (or Crown of Thorns), and not gaining initiative against themes like Genesis, but beyond that, I think it can work pretty well. I'm currently toying around with it in a Disciples deck, since Disciples already use a Temple, and they allow for a larger defense.

Watchout for Isaiah's Call and Daniel.
But isn't Holy of Holies active?
Isaiah's Call would still work. Isaiah makes it CBN.

Wouldn't you need Gates of Hell to pull it off more than once?

He does.

It's good but I have a couple suggestions.

1. Low numbered heroes like Joe or Ben get Inish against this, activate plagued with diseases on your turn to get rid of those pesky characters. Also, Play-first is annoying against this too Watch out for Hidden Treasures and Jacob.

2. Of course, watch out for art/fort destruction.

3.  Have this as your main strategy but have some other stuff to back it up while its setting up or in case it gets nuked.

It's a nice strategy but it does have its weaknesses if your conscious of them and prepare for them this combo is nigh-unstoppable.

The problem with PwD is that only Chorazin can hold it (and that only works for one turn). You'll need your art slot for Crown of Thorns. PwD is also risky because you could give heroes like Sam or Asher initiative.

And Chuck Norris
Doesn't he counter everything?

This is true.  So the turn you activate plagued with diseases is the turn you use Uzzah.

EDIT: unless Chuck Norris is in play of course...

I think this might be a better combo for T2. x3 Gates of Hell, x4 Wandering Spirit, x4 TD, x3 HoH (with a couple temples), x3 Crown of Thorns, x4 Destructive Sin to take out Thad, Abby, ect.

It doesn't need Gates of Hell to work. The idea only really works as an end-game strategy once I'm decked out, as using Gates will just kill Trembling Demon when he's put in territory. It's definitely a part of a larger defense though, so I'm working on integrating it into a larger defense, probably Magicians.

Sounds pretty solid to me. Disciples should get you through your deck fast enough to where this can actually be useful.  I would definitely suggest you include invoking terror and Destructive sin to help stop annoying characters in territory.

Untrue. All's you need to do is just Gates WS (make sure he goes on the very bottom) then when you block with him, you can get TD from the bottom. Crown of Thorns won't kill TD until WS completes his ability, so you can band TD in, protect the LSs, and he dies.

I've used the combo in various decks, and it works well some of the time, but there are literally dozens of potential counters, many of which are commonly played, so I wouldn't build a defense around it.

While there may be dozens of counters, it's unlikely more than one or two would be in the same deck. The biggest problem is a Genesis offense. For that, use Broken Cisterns (kills Joe and Ben, but doesn't lower Hero abilities in battle).
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Yeah Pol is right broken cisterns is good.  And actually would be way better than PwD in my suggestion.

However, it's likely that at least one or two will be in many/most decks, which means in order for this to be reliable, you have to have ways to get around all the different counters.

Every way around this is either Isaiah, Daniel, Joseph/Benjamin, or something that can be killed by ASA. Simply put in ASA and 1 or 2 Assyrians of your choice, Cisterns, and some way to combat Isaiah decks. In other words, put this combo in a Manasseh defense.
