OK. I just realized that by adding Malchus to my no defense speed deck I can just let him die and then have another lost soul to rescue.
Can someone please list all of the cards that they can think of that can give ME more lost souls to rescue? Please do not include the ones that MAY result in a lost soul because of revealed or drawn cards (like Revealer, Warrior's Spear, Hur, Mayhem, etc). I'm looking for those ones that, barring the ability being negated, WILL get you another lost soul to rescue. Thanks!
Here are the ones on my list right now:
Harvest Time
Hopper LS
The Am Slave
Woman at the Well
Malchus
Dungeon of Malciah
Joseph before Pharaoh
Night Raid
-
Servant Girl.

As a follow up to this, what happens on a hero like War Officer that says "if defeated"? It doesn't specify "discarded". What if the defender played a card that is removing him from the game? Does he instead get placed in their land of bondage?

I was getting ready to add war officer.
Other ways to generate LS's are to capture their heros and then transfer them to your opponent via king Assnaper or prisoner transfer. technically you can generate LS's as long as you can keep capturing with that method. If you can infinitley recur evil gold enhancements then Egyptian warden can capture ad infinitum.

Wedding Party and Commissioned are both enhancements that search opponent's deck for a Lost Soul. Elders of the City captures all EC's that it defeats and places them in opponent's Land of Bondage.
One other thing to think about is combos for producing LS's when there are currently none available (assuming your opponent won't block a battle challenge). High Places + Dungeon allows you to produce an LS in Prep phase (even though HP is then discarded). Maharai (Wa) + Jacob (FoOF) allows you to play Joseph Before Pharoah pre-block.

Mayhem is not guaranteed but often works to generate a Lost Soul when one is needed. Same with Hur and Love at First Sight.
-
Potiphar's Wife can be quite useful.

I know this is a ruling question, but still don't have an answer as to how this works. Thanks again for all these awesome suggestions.

Defeated refers to any time a Hero doesn't rescue an LS in a battle that was at any time a rescue attempt, or any time a Hero is removed from battle, beaten by numbers, or ignored in a battle challenge.
So if your opponent plays a card that removes, sets aside, ignores, discards, or captures War Officer without interrupting his SA, he will go to your opponent's LoB. Also, if WO's RA becomes a BC (Uzzah, DoU, etc.), WO can go to your opponent's LoB.

Wow, he's even more versatile than I thought. I especially didn't know that an Uzzah block counts as "defeated". Thanks!

One of the greatest game winners i ever seen included Claudia+ET+OoN chossing thier own Women as Snares capturing thier own defense for the win.

Is there any list anywhere that has all this defeated/blocks/successful/etc. stuff? It seems this is the second time in as many days someone suddenly has a definition people have been asking for.
