Are super powerful now that decrease discards immediately. King Omri + Gates of Samaria (+ Land Purchase if needed) can now be an auto-block. The only problems I can see are 1) that this defense would probably take a lot of cards and 2) that if Gates of Samaria is disposed of, which is not that hard to do now, the defense could be pretty much toast.
But I could totally see this being the best 100+ card T1 deck defense ever.

This is pretty much true but if needed you could just use the old school protection of Jerusalem to make sure Gates doesn't die.

Well, that would take even more cards, and is not that reliable since a lot of people use DD. I think a 100+ card deck would probably be the best way to do this defense.

My first crazy defense was a brown with some decrease. Take a wild guess what I'm starting again. ;D

I'm trying a T2 brown/black (Israelite Kings/Canaanites) defense, although the Gates of Samaria is just part of the defense.
If you want to make sure Darius Decree doesn't stop your old Protection of Angels just use Miraculous Handkerchiefs to protect them in set aside area, it also seems to have the side benefit of suspending any of those nasty place cards like Destructive Sin and such.

Problem is, there are now 9001 cards that can take care of an art such as Miraculous Hankies, like Iron Pan and all the cards that negate/discard arts.

True, but how many layers of protection can you expect your opponent to get through in a real game? I'm not saying its bullet proof, but its really all you have if you want to protect set aside characters.

After playing 2 games with Ultrabrown 3.0, I think decrease is FINALLY a legit threat.
In one game, I drew all 5 samarias in 3 turns, got gates down, along with Plagued with Diseases and killed 3 heroes in one shot, with one extra samaria (i wasted one due to hand space). So good.

Hmm, I did legitimately forget that one, but I only have PwD to trigger it. (PwD + FoD was one of my favorite combos in old versions of Ultrabrown)

It was even better when Wheel Within a Wheel allowed the angel to play Green enhancements, which meant that you could actually use Provisions on your 0/6 Job...That was a fun playtest deck.

IIRC, you ended up winning the game, but Job went in for at least 3 free rescues since you were so terrified of what an 0/6 Job could do...
