Does This Work Like I THink It Does?

I go in for a rescue attempt with Asahel (THxP) and band to Ishmaiah. I draw 2 with Ishmaih and then band into battle Ahimelek the Hittite w/ Foreign Sword. I use Ahimelek's ability to return a Evil Character in my opponent's territory to his hand and then use sword to place another on his deck. I do all this before he sends out a Evil Character.

Asahel -> Ishmaiah -> Ahimelek w/ Foreign Sword

That is correct. All Hero abilities, and abilities on weapons on those Heroes, complete before your opponent gets a chance to block.

Alright Thanks. This combo helped me shut down my friends Babylonian Defense. He never was able to have at least three Evil Character out so he could block.

You can block from hand, you Ahimelek is good, but he could still use the character you returned to hand.

I thought if a character was returned to hand, you could not play it until the battle was over

A unique character cannot enter battle a second time in the same turn, but if the EC were sent to hand from territory (such as with this banding chain) it could enter battle from hand.

Interesting. Can Foreign Sword effect lost souls?

Yes. It is often used to negate protected souls (like NT or Fem Only) or to topdeck the 2-Liner so your opponent can't make you rescue half.

If I swap my tapped 2liner to an opponent could I negate my 2 liner and put back on top of my deck?

Nope. Foreign Sword says "opponent's" card which means your opponent has to own and control the target.

Just for the clarity of random readers, you can't negate the 2-Liner Lost Soul, since it has an identifier rather than a Special Ability.

Just for clarity of random readers, you can't negate the 2-Liner (or 3-Liner) Lost Soul, since it has an errata to make the special ability "cannot be negated".  ;)

You can still top deck it if you don't want to rescue half.

If it was an identifier, it'd be a no s.a. lost soul, and we all know what that means...

Every game ends in a time out?  Jacob's ladder suddenly becomes a staple?  The price of Lost Souls goes way up?
