COMBO COMBO COMBO COMBO AFRICA

-BIG THANKS TO RING WRAITH.  THE COMBO WOULD NOT HAVE WORKED WITHOUT HIM-
-BIG THANKS TO MJB. HE HAD SOME SUGGESTIONS THAT AWESOMEFIED THE COMBO-

Now that Ring Wraith has already used it at nats, I can post our combo :D. It isn't very good: ineffective and unreliable. But it is a lot of fun, and you can (theoretically) rescue 7 souls before your opponent has a turn!!!

Make sure the Thorns lost soul is up
Convert Ittai to green with Gold Shield/Convert Fallen Warrior to green with Holy Grail
Slap Eleazer's Sword on your Philistine Hero
Play ANB

You win a soul, and get another turn! There are more things you can do (use FSP/abuse placer priests/etc), but this is what it boils down to.

Its too late to enjoy though. There is going to be a rule change (atleast I've been told) beings it isn't in the spirit of the game to rescue 7 souls without giving your opponent a turn.

Props go to Ring Wraith too. He helped me make this awesomeness possible, and he played it at nats.
Props go to MJB for bringing up the idea of Unified Kingdom/Placer Priests/FSP after discarding your entire deck with Gates. Before that, I was just going to play it like a normal ANB deck and hope to pull the combo off occasionally.

Unfortunate it won't work next year. Although, I can now say "yeah, that rule was put in place because of me".

Wait? They don't want to turn Redemption into Yugioh by letting you win before your opponent gets to go? Sounds silly.

Btw. Your combo is awesome.

7 souls, 1 turn. I only pulled it off twice, but I was close a few times. one card away...

this is actually a noobsauce version. the real version I played went down like this:

Gates the deck (once you get the cards you need)
RA ET, play Unified Kingdom, band in Eliashama (Place ANB on Ittai), band in Tribal Elder (who then bands in Ittai (with Eleazar's Sword))

Now that we have Nazareth, it would be really cool if they remove all the erratas on ANB and just create a new T2 category for tournaments that is for ANB decks only.

CTR+Nazareth will be nasty!   ;)

Well done gentlemen. FWIW, Rob has not explicitly stated that the rule will change (at least not on the boards) but he did seem to favor it somewhat. I'm sure he does even more now that the combo has been shown to be at least somewhat effective.

By all means.  But being that I just saw the card less than 24 hours ago AND I'm retired, I was happy to find something to tinker around with in the garage with my ANBs.   ;)

If thats the case I call dibs on CTR+Anb ;) Not like it matters. ANB is the going to be the first banned card.

He pulled this one off on me but I kinda let him because I kept battle challenging with hidden treasures and he'd false peace momentum change every time.

Whenever the new rule change hits I'd like to be notified just to review it. Has it already happened?

Rule change hasn't happened, nor is it confirmed. If one is put in place, it will more than likely be "Heroes can't be immune to heroes, evil characters can't be immune to evil characters."

No. There is no way to have a hero protect himself from his own shuffle/harm/whatever. We've checked.

I already have another combo.

on a side note, this combo was used in a 154 TEAMS deck and took fourth (I think). so much better when you can actually have defense...

the ruling will be "You cannot be immune to your own alignment."

So since I was able to play this deck but never got to see it play out let me see if I can understand this.

Since Thorns LS is out, and your philly hero is immune to himself, plays ANB,  he cannot be shuffeled by ANB-- so he rescues a lost soul while everything else is being shuffled back in?
