Would someone please explain to me how this card works as a fort?

I believe it protects heroes from banding to other heroes?  Is that correct?  Does it do other things?

If a hero would target an opponent's hero, this stops it. So yeah, mostly just banding, but there are a few other things too.

Got it.  Would it be correct to say that it stops your  opponent  from banding to his own heroes?

Yes, as well as you banding to their heroes. Similar to the Wool fleece from CoW, which protects evil characters from band abilities.

It also stops Heroes who protect other Heroes in territory, in case you want to do nasty things to them (Serpent, Great Image, Wrath, etc).
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?
