I was wondering if I could Get inish with a low number gray EC, and then lay two Momentum Change, then lay Bearing Bad News, then would one Momentum Change return the other one to my hand, and only the EC would be discarded as a result of the battle and the three enhancments would be returned to my hand? :o

Bearing Bad News (Ki)

Momentum Change (Ki)

"This one" in Momentum Change means Momentum Change itself, not that particular copy, so it ensures that any and all copies of Momentum Change played that battle are discarded.

The momentum changes cover each other.

The Hobbit wasn't disagreeing, just saying the same thing in a more confusing way.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Well, in that case you're both wrong and confusing :)

I don't understand why "this one" means all momentum changes. They might as well have said "this card".

What if a generic ec said may band to an evil character to discard all evil characters in battle except this one. Would both stay?

I agree that it should be handled with an errata ("Momentum Change" instead of "This One"), rather than a pretty bad fiat ruling, but that's how it is now.

Mother may I...

Momentum Change (Ki)
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Gray • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Remove this card from game to return all Evil Enhancements to holder's hand if Evil Character loses in battle. • Identifiers: None • Verse: II Samuel 19:1-2

Paybacks are H-E-double hockey stick.  ;)
Final ANB errata: Return player to game.

That does more changing than is necessary. One of the biggest differences is that Grapes could not be played off it.

This does not make it "right" (though it does show precedent): many Type II decks of the past have centered around the idea of 2x Momentum change (5 False Peace in the mix). Though Nazareth killed False Peace, I've not heard that Momentum Change was killed via ruling (...as non-pharisee gray dramatically waves goodbye to Type II).

Red was always playable :)

After researching, here is a thread I found that seems to state that, as Pol noted, Momentum Change cannot target-for-return other copies of MC. In other words "If EC loses, return all enhancements except momentum change cards to hand".

Link to 2009 Discussion

The only thing left up in the air was "can an activated MC return a negated MC to hand?"

(should this be moved to rulings?)

Red was always playable :)

I'd vote that this be moved to rulings, but I know that a negated MC is still a MC, and thus, isn't returned.
