2-liner still a good idea in type 1 if you have no soul manipulation?

If you don't have soul manipulation or a way to stop them from using SoG the liner is a liability.

An absolute liability or a relative liability ('cause you have include a no-SA lost soul in your deck)?

Everything is relative in TCG's usually. Depends on what deck you are against and the type of deck you have. Right now I'd say it's more of a liability because there are plenty of cards to pull SoG straight out of deck or draw it quickly.

Thanks!

It's an excellent magnet to keep you from getting a SoG on one of the souls you want sticking around.

It can also be decent if you play on winning the game turn 3 or 4 in which case it's a free block on the gamble they don't draw SoG in time.

Yeah, I tend to agree more with Pol and Kevin and for that reason think it can still be useful. It definitely depends on your deck type, but most decks these days are fast and generally end up getting souls out quickly. I think the greatest liability with the liner is that if it's your only soul out then giving up half means you still have to block again or your opponent still has a target for SoG. That really doesn't matter as much if your deck is fast enough and you're getting your souls out anyway. With all the imitation of Lawless and The Ends of the Earth shenanigans going on, I think it could still be worth the potential stall block.
All that being said, you really gotta plan on winning on turn 3 or 4 like Kevin said because everybody's getting to SoG by turn 4 these days. Not necessarily sure if it's worth the slot with all the useful souls going around, but I wouldn't say it's useless.

Koney hype

I just bought one of these 2-liners last week, and I got it because I realized the newer cards pull my souls from the deck before I realize what hit me.

At Nationals, Liner absolutely vindicated itself. Multiple games I got a totally free block even without running Falling Away. If I'd been running that and Hormah it would have been even better but just Liner with no support whatsoever was so worth it.
