Yeah, I tend to agree more with Pol and Kevin and for that reason think it can still be useful. It definitely depends on your deck type, but most decks these days are fast and generally end up getting souls out quickly. I think the greatest liability with the liner is that if it's your only soul out then giving up half means you still have to block again or your opponent still has a target for SoG. That really doesn't matter as much if your deck is fast enough and you're getting your souls out anyway. With all the imitation of Lawless and The Ends of the Earth shenanigans going on, I think it could still be worth the potential stall block.
All that being said, you really gotta plan on winning on turn 3 or 4 like Kevin said because everybody's getting to SoG by turn 4 these days. Not necessarily sure if it's worth the slot with all the useful souls going around, but I wouldn't say it's useless.
