why do men assume that women don't like football?
Same reason people assume sharks are mean. Sure, there are a couple of nice sharks maybe, but usually when I try to explain football to a girl I get my legs bit off...while I'm swimming in pads...you get the point.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Can Geico really save you 15% or more on car insurance?

Do guys like football?

(Psst, there's no "Why".)   ;)

Answer 1: The gecko can, but Geico can't.

GEICO saves me money. Also, I would never leave GEICO anyway since they were there when I needed them most, after my wife's accident and subsequent lawsuit. As it turns out, the other guy caused the accident on purpose just to claim the lawsuit. Fortunately, our GEICO lawyer did her research, found out about the guy's past lawsuits, checked his medical records, and presented the facts to him just before we went to trial. He decided to settle on the amount we were covered for, so we had to pay nothing.

Answer 2: This is one guy who does not like football.

Have you ever tried playing football? Most guys that I have met who do not like football have never tried it. Either that or when they first tried it, they played with other guys who think they don't like it, or they played with uberjocks who are no fun to play with anyway (i.e. Ochocinco).

Who is in charge of Geico? The Gecko. I'm not saying it is bad.

Yes, I have tried to play football many times but I have yet to see the sport in it.

Obama...... GEICO = Government Employees Insurance Company

So, you're calling our president a lizard?  :o    ;)

Yes, I have tried to play football many times but I have yet to see the sport in it.

At least you are a good sport for trying it before deciding you didn't like it.  ;D

Yes, I have tried to play football many times but I have yet to see the sport in it.

So you find running around kicking a ball to be more of a sport? Don't get me wrong, I like soccer more than the average American (which isn't hard, really), but Football has way more strategy, scoring, and spectacular plays. Soccer has its own great plays, but a great play in soccer has to pretty much be either a difficult goal, or a difficult save. A great play in football can be any one of the following:

A beautifully thrown ball placed exactly where only the receiver can catch it.
A horribly thrown ball placed exactly where only a diving/leaping/long-armed receiver can snag it.
A kickoff/punt return for TD complete with a mix of speed and agility.
A running back pushing 3-4 defensive lineman/linebackers for an extra five yards, or possibly a TD (as a Minnesota fan, I can especially appreciate that).
A clean hit hard enough to knock a ball loose.
A kicker who can kick a FG that is high enough to get over linemen who can reach up to 10 feet in the air and yet low enough for a trajectory of staying 10 feet in the air over 150 feet away.
Press 1 for more options.

Yes I do find kicking a ball around not letting other people to get it amusing. Besides, you don't get as much bruises even though you are being kicked at the ankles. I would prefer running above both sports even though I have no competition.

The few soccer people I've known didn't seem like big football fans. So maybe if you ditch soccer, you'll enjoy football a lot more. That's pretty much guarenteed.

I have done that too.

I don't like joining sport teams, I just play by myself or with my friends at P.E.

This would answer the original question you asked. Football is definitely a team sport. You can shoot hoops by yourself, and you can kick a ball around or into a goal by yourself, but you can not play football by yourself.

Problem solved. You can play soccer with almost complete confidence you won't be remotely harmed in any way. You would prefer solitaire or blackjack to poker, and soccer is more like the former while football is like the latter. Soccer can be played the same way as if it were a team sport with some kids and a ball, requiring no commitment, whereas pick-up or PE football is touch, flag, or sometimes Rugby lite but is never even remotely the same thing as football on a team with plays, special teams, and pads/helmets/refs.

Speaking of football, I love CBS Sports' headline article that says, "The state of Alabama produced the last two Heisman winners -- Mark Ingram and Cam Newton." Cam Newton went to high school in Georgia, and Mark Ingram went to high school in Michigan. "Recruited" would be more accurate than "produced."  ;)

Not to mention that Cam Newton transferred from Florida.

Not at all true. Soccer is one of the higher contact sports, granted, not as much as Hockey, Rugby, or Football.

Now, now. The NCAA completely exonerated him. Players can not control what their parents do behind their backs.  ;)

Ohio State, on the other hand, should be stripped of their entire football program after their heinous crime. Imagine encouraging their players to exchange autographs for tattoos. It's reprehensible!  :o
