Proof is in the pudding.

Tom Brady: 3 rings
Aaron Rodgers: 1 ring
Drew Brees: 1 ring

May you prosper greatly!

Not a good marker for the point being debated.

The statement was that Tom Brady is the best QB right now And that's simply not true.

Now, if we're looking at overall careers, then yes, Brady by a long shot right now.

Also, Eli's got 2, and he's beaten Brady the last 3 times he's played him. Do you rank him above or below Brady sean?

I did mean more looking at careers as a whole, and even how good they were at their height.

Then why in the world did you say 'Right now'

If we're looking at careers as a whole, then I like Brady. If we're looking at height I like Brady and Eli. If we're looking at recent seasons, lets say the last two, then I like Rodgers, Brees and Eli.

Tom Brady, the best quarterback in the NFL right now
I'd love to argue this. Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees over Brady. Brady has the #1 Ranked offensive line, Deion Branch, Wes Welker, Gronk, and Hernandez. It's easy to be the best when you have the #1 TE, and the #1 WR. True Rodgers has a top 5 TE, Drews has the #2 TE, and all three have an excellent receiving corps, but Brady's offensive line is too good to put him over Rodgers or Brees.

Brady right now > Drew Brees right now Aaron Rodgers right now.

Brady's weapons.
Welker - cut from the dolphins. suddenly awesome with Brady.
Branch - good with Brady early in career, went to seahawks. did nothing. Comes back to Brady and he's good again.
Julian Edelman - only on the team for his versatility.
Gronkowski - Good
Hernandez - missed half the season but good.

Brees' Weapons.
Colston - amazing
Graham - amazing
Sproles - should really be moved to wide out
 Moore - pretty good
Henderson/Meechem/etc. - not that great individually but good by commitee.

Rodgers' Weapons.
Jennings - awesome
Nelson - Awesome
Driver - fading now but still decent
Finley - good

Brady does the most with the least weapons. He also revitalized Randy Moss' career. It tends to get over looked but he, like Brees, broke Marino's record for passing yards in a season this year. Probably would have beaten Brees had the Patriots not found some sort of mock run game for once.

Brees now holds the all time passing record. He also has the most weapons out of the three. Has the best defense out of the three.

Rodgers' Had the most TDs. Second most weapons. The reason I no longer have him over Brees is the fact that Matt Flynn had that monster game at the end of the season. Why does that matter? It was Flynns second NFL start, in his first he threw for 3 TDs in his second he threw for...6? I think i can't remember off hand but one of the QBs in that game had 5 the other had 6. I'm not saying that Rodgers isn't good but you can't say that after those performance by a guy with almost no experience that there isn't a system set up in GB for QBs to thrive. He has more weapons that Brady as well.

Brady has consistently done the most with the least. Just look at last nights game. Wes Welker drops a pass on the second to last possession that would have given the pats a first down in field goal range. Wes Welker completes that pass and the Pats almost definitely win that game. If if the Giants come back and score a touchdown, the pats only need a field goal to win it now. Then on the final drive, drops by Branch and Hernandez, sack on third down costing the third time out ultimately leading to a last play 51 yard hail mary.

I'm a bills fan, I'm trained to hate Tom Brady but I just can't. He's the best QB in the NFL right now and has been in the top 2, trading places with Peyton, for over a decade. Had he one last night you could definitely make the argument of best ever, and he's still got a shot at that crown. Both right now and career wise he's the best.

You guys fill me with mirth.  ;D

If you truly want to filter the best QB argument to Right now and only look at Right now, then here's how they rank:

1. Eli Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. everyone else

Super Bowl Champion =/= best QB. Take Trent Dilfer for example, he won the Super Bowl with the Ravens and the next season ended up being the back up to Matt Hasselbeck in Seattle. It takes a team to win a super bowl. Brady didn't drop those passes. Brady didn't allow what ended up being the game winning touchdown. Brady didn't allow himself to get sacked on 3rd down and force the team to burn their final timeout.

As a lifetime Patriots fan, I will say forthright that the loss was on Brady. A future Hall-of-Fame QB and team leader should have thrown that first pass out of bounds, since his receivers were running toward the sideline. You can't make that kind of mistake when you are standing in the endzone.

Without those two points, the Giants' final drive would have been only for a TD, which our defense could have actually tried to defend. The free kick also led to seven more points. You can't give that away in the SuperBowl against a team that beat you in your last SuperBowl and beat you earlier this season. We may have still lost either way, but the ending would have played out much differently.

Brady is a system QB

While I wouldn't go as far to say that Brady is entirely a system QB, I will say he has a great system around him, and he wouldn't have nearly the success he has now if he played for a different team.  Don't forget, Brady is out for a season and the Patriots  go 11-5 with their back-up quarterback.

Cassel's numbers that season were average though, and two years later he had a better season statistically and finished with the same record for the Kansas City Chiefs. Did the "system" follow him or stay in New England?

Brady's ring are so controversial due to the footage, sorry. But talking about the weapons, saying how awesome Rodger's/Brees weapons are, well doesn't that back up them? We don't know how Green Bay's/NO's receivers are because they have been there the whole time.

KC went 10-6 that year, but mostly because of Dwayne Bowe & Jamaal Charles.

sorry should have clarified, Cassel was10-5 in both seasons. Cassell had better stats with the Chiefs. QB rating was nearly 10 points better. Cassell is a good QB, he never started in college because he had to compete with 2 straight Heisman trophy winners and then Tom Brady once he got to the NFL. Brady has gone threw at least half a dozen offensives coordinators in his career. The system keeps moving but he stays just as good as he ever was.

Right there. In 2008, the year brady got hurt cassel 3600 yards 21 TDs 11 interceptions. going 10-5 as the starter. 2 years later in 2010 he threw for 3100 yards 27 TDs and 7 ints going 10-5 as the starter and leading the chiefs to the playoffs. Seems like pretty simple math to me.

Sorry, glanced quickly. His QBR went up nearly ten from 09-10 not 08-10. My bad. but the rest of the stats remain valid, and the point itself remains valid. Tom Brady is NOT a system QB.

I think it came down to the team that was the most clutch. The Giants have been making the perfect plays at the needed time over the last few weeks. The Pats are awesome, but I think the Giants have their number.
My Teams: Atlanta Braves, NY Giants, Miami Hurricanes Football, Duke Basketball, Cleveland Cavs
