Super Bowl XLVI thread NY Giants VS NE Patriots

ok so we have ourselves a superbowl rematch from 2007. The superbowl will be held in Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana and its home to of course, the Indianapolis Colts, so considering the rivalry between Patriots/Colts, the Patriots may have themselves a disadvantage over the giants considering their on their AFC Rival's home turf and even worse for them is, they have to face against a rival city to New England, or better known as "Boston".
sure in baseball Boston and New York have an intense rivalry but it reached out into football and other sports. and this is one of those times with Boston and New York going at it in an intense game and this superbowl is sure to be one of the most intense superbowls we've seen in years and Madonna has been confirmed as the performer for the Super Bowl halftime show, with M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj possibly performing as well. The Indiana University Marching Hundred will be performing during the pregame show.
On January 12, 2012, it was reported that former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson will sing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLVI. It marks the fourth time in the previous five years that an Idol contestant has performed the anthem (joining Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks). Husband-and-wife country musicians Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert will perform "America the Beautiful" as part of the ceremonies. The league has not officially confirmed the news.

I'll go with the Patriots. Tom Brady is a force to be reckoned with during the regular season and is even better in the post season. I don't believe that the Giants will be able to pull it off again. Whatever happens though it should be a good game seeing that I'm in an upstate NY college with a bunch of Patriots and Giants fans.

I disagree with this statement. New England is comprised of six states: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. The Boston is a city in only one of those states.

The reason that I mention this (other than the obvious pet peeve) is that northern New Englanders tend to favor the Boston teams, but the southern New Englanders (wow, "southern" New Englander sounds like an oxymoron) tend to favor New York City teams.  Vermont fans prefer whichever team is on their favorite flavor of Ben & Jerry's.

When I lived in Connecticut, there were many people who were fans of the Patriots and Yankees. They like the Patriots because they were New Englanders. They like the Yankees because NYC is closer than Boston.

I don't know that this is true. The only reason the Pats and the Giants have any kind of a rivalry is because of what is arguably the biggest upset in Super Bowl history just a few years ago. Beyond that, the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry remains the only real sports rivalry between the two cities.

Boston fans are most definitely Patriots fans, but Patriots fans are not necessarily Boston fans. The Patriots have a much greater following throughout all the New England states than the Red Sox do, especially in CT and RI. The location of the stadium is not relevant since the vast majority of Patriots fans watch them on TV. Patriots games have priority throughout the New England states. This is not true however in baseball, since Yankees games have priority in southern New England states, while Red Sox games have priority in Northern New England states.

Well, Robert Kraft promised to keep the Patriots in MA for 4 more years, so I guess that means they will relocate to Carolina in three.
