Is it just me or is March Madness really messed up this year?

It's just you.   ;)

You have two brackets where all the incumbents move on. You have two brackets with cinderellas. This is pretty standard fare for March Madness (hence the name). If there were no little guys advancing, then people like me (whose team took an early exit) would not watch any other games.

Take note Bracket Prognosticators: Virginia teams have been good at upsets through the years:

Norfolk State (2012)
VCU (Virginia Commonwealth) (2011)
George Mason (2006)
Hampton (2001)
ODU (Old Dominion) (1995)
Richmond (1984 & 1991)

And, if recent history stands up (VCU & George Mason), then Norfolk State may be poised for a run!  :o

Having two #2 upsets in the first round was a bit crazy, but otherwise it's been pretty standard. I was surprised about UNLV going first round, and G-Town was unexpected, but not altogether ridiculous.

With more #11 and up seeds winning in the first round than ever before this year, I would say it is NOT standard.

There's never been more than 7? Interesting. I blame my very small knowledge of NCAA history. Which pretty much is just the last 3 years.
