Incredible start to the season

With his go-ahead Grand Slam today, Chris Davis (Deputy or Thor, depending on who you talk to) is batting .600 with 4 Home Runs and 16 RBI...in only 4 games.  Only the 4th player in history with a Home Run in four consecutive games to start a season.  And all of his RBI were timely for the team, not adding on to a beating.

Absolutely incredible what he's doing, and he has basically been the reason for the 3 wins the Orioles have so far (which is a good and bad thing at the same time...).

Hoping it continues, Go Os :)

An amazing feat to be sure, but I can't be too excited about it, considering it dashed my hope for the almost unthinkably awesome 3-1 Twins start to the season. Good for him, but needless to say I hope he cools down a bit, at least until next week...

Patrick Marleau recently became the first player to start an NHL season with 4 straight 2 goal games. His team, San Jose, started 7-0-0.

They aren't going to make the playoffs.

Yeah, the Twins took 2 from the Tigers, didn't they?  Everyone says that they're awful, but everyone also expected the Os to get maybe 70 wins last year, and they made the playoffs.  I'm liking the way the league looks right now, and I'm hoping the Twins have a great season, been waiting long enough.  They actually have a lot of (in my opinion) undervalued talent, so I wouldn't be surprised if they made a run of it :)

Just maybe starting next week ;)

Yeah, getting hot now doesn't mean anything long-term.  I fully expect the Os to drop 8-10 games from last year's result, though I'd be surprised if they completely out of contention.  I don't see Chris Davis's amazing streak as any more than that, but it is certainly fun to watch while it continues ;)

I wouldn't be too sure of that...the Wild seems to be doing everyrhing they can to open up a spot for them...

Yeah I hopped on TSN right after this and realized they are currently on a 6 game win streak. Oh well, it happens.

Well my Capitals have more wins than losses for the first time all season and took over 1st in their division! So glad they play in the weakest division right now. :)

Recent fan to hockey, but also a Caps fan.  Loving the current situation, but yeah, the division is pretty weak at the moment ;)

On a somewhat related note, it seems the Twins are making a habit of giving up Grand Slams to the hottest hitters in baseball...John Buck of the mets is on a four-game home run streak as well
