Should I be worried about Lidge's horrific performance tonight? Is this an indication that he might still be in 09 form as opposed to 08?

You should always worry when Lidge is on the mound.

Yes.  Lidge has lost it forever.  Just like Gagne did.  Drop him like a hot potato.  Seriously.

(And on a less serious note, I hate waiver order.   :P )

I agree. The waiver order is kind of odd. Usually it resets weekly.

Like 2 days after I release Martin, Mauer gets injured. He isn't in the lineup tonight, and the Twins plan to take it slow with him :/.

The day before mother's day. You might also need to buy like 4 small fries, to bribe half the people in the league. Otherwise, the trade might get vetoed.

It's actually a fairly balanced trade. Same logic as the Upton/Werth trade. (not quite, but close) Pudge is off to a tremendous start, while Joe is doing decent, but now injured, with the potential to be great later on.

And Pudge is the greatest defensive catcher playing right now, so he'll help my Fielding Percentage and Assists.

(Especially assists, beings the Nats tend to have anywhere from 50-55 baserunners per inning. Lots are going to try and steal against that beast).

Trade proposed. I can't sense sarcasm over the internet, and your sarcasm tags didn't show up. So I hope you weren't joking around with me :)

I owe you a happy meal.

I'm really tempted to accept it just to see if we actually veto it (I have no idea how many people are actually checking it every couple days, and it there aren't enough votes its auto-passed).

Although, I'm forced to decline. It only mentions Mauer and Pudge, not a happy meal.

Woah, I just realized that the trade offer says JOE MAUER. I was refering to his brother, Jake Mauer (manager of the Fort Meyer Miracle).

Joe has a brother? I didn't know that :)

Yeah, I didn't figure you were going to accept it, twas worth a shot though :) But I do recall you saying something about not giving up Joe unless the trade included Halladay, Lincecum, Pujols and Rameriz (Hanley)
Something about a stuborn twins fan :)

EDIT: Just looked it up. Go back in time, revive Ruth and Williams, then offer those and Albert.

Actually, I believe I said something to the effect of "I'm not trading Mauer unless you invent a time machine, go back in time, and get Ruth and Williams (in their primes). Then I'd accept Pujols, Ruth, and Williams."

I believe Joe has two brothers, Jake and Billy, all of whom signed with the Twins (or one of the Twin's minor league d00ds)

I think I should take more short backpacking trips.  I left Friday while in 4th place and returned Sunday in first place.  It made me smile.

Yeah.... I'm doing fine in all the pitching categories, but despite having a decent squad I'm falling short in almost all of the batting categories.... I think I should propose an outlandish trade :)

I'll trade Halladay for a 5-tool star :)

I'm very happy with my team.  I gave up Wells but got Uggla in return so my 2B is improved and my outfield is still high quality.  I needed more PO anyway and Konerko is doing well for me in that area.  Haren is a great improvement to Lowe so all I need from my pitching is for Sheets and Hoffman to get their ERA down.
May you prosper greatly!

I normally do outlandish trades.   ;)  But alas, I am also doing decent on pitching but lack in hitting.   :-\

Haren was a fortuitous grab.  The thing I don't like about the waiver order is that sometimes a 1-3 seed gets the next big waiver pick up.  I know because in another league where I'm sitting in first I also happened to be first in waiver order when a key hitter was on waivers.

I've never had a baseball league with a waiver order set up any other way.  I also think the current set up is the better way for rotisserie style.

Well, I've only played in one other league, but that league set the waiver order weekly, corresponding to the rankings. (Last place got first waiver, 9th place got second waiver, 8th place got third waiver, etc)

We can consider altering the waiver set up for next season but I'm in favor of keeping it as is.  I don't like the idea of changing order in rotisserie because of how much the standings can change from day to day.  With my last pick-up I was 3rd or 4th in waiver order and was in 4th place when I made the waiver request.  By the time Haren cleared waivers I was in 1st.  I could have been in 7th place just as easy.  Would my pick up be as "fortuitous" if I were 7th rather than 1st?
May you prosper greatly!
