Couple more questions:

I've been shuffling one pitcher spot, grabbing a starter each day to ensure I'll get some points from there. Is this a good idea? is there a limit to how many aquisitions, or innings I can pitch over the course of a season?

Soto has gone 2/12, and Lou says he's going to be splitting time with the Cubs other catcher, is it time to start looking at an alternative for him? Either through FA or tradding out part of my outfield? Or should I give him some time and see if he bounces back from his bad start?

Finally: Is it better to have a guy plugged in to a spot, and have him go 0/4 with a walk. or is it better to not have anyone in that spot at all?

When you are on the "My Team" main tab you will see another row of tabs just above your roster.  One is named "Limits".  This will keep track of whether you are on pace to exceed the maximum allowable limits for games played and innings pitched.

Catcher is always a position that never really gives you a full 162 games worth of stats.  It's just the nature of the position.  That being said, you may want to keep another catcher on the bench to swap with Soto.

It's a roto league so any day you don't have a player in your lineup you aren't accumulating stats.  But there are negative categories as well as positive.  In your example you would benefit from the walk, but have a liability to your AVG, SLG and OBP categories.

Wonderful, thanks for all the help STAMP.

It appears that I'm on pace to go about 65 innings over. I think I'll keep rotating a pitcher, but keep an eye on that limit pretty close.

Yeah, I guess I was asking if the negatives would outwiegh the positives :)

I took a look at the free agent catchers, looks like Ivan Rodriguez is the best available. So I may consider picking him up. But I think I'll also go fishing, see if I can't snag a quality stater from one of you chumps :)

I'll trade you Miguel Montero.  He's rated one of the top catchers...oooh, that's right, I forgot he's on the DL.   :D

Speaking of picking up players, just wait until I waive one.  Seems like every player I waive because they are in a mega-slump tend to break out of their slump the day after I drop them.   :-\

And then there's this league I'm in where I have Jimmy Rollins, Cliff Lee, Huston Street, Brian Roberts and Miguel Montero...ALL on the DL!!  Fortunately, that league allows me to keep up to 5 on the my DL.

Well, Soto did go 1/2 with a single, homer, two Ribby's and two walks today :)

Ouch, you look set in that one league, cept for the DL deal :) I honestly haven't been bothered by the 2 limit DL in the ESPN league - Right now Lidge and Wood are on it, and I've got Woods replacement in my roster - So once he comes back I don't really need to worry about a spot for him. Of course I'm sure if Votto and Kemp both go down at the same time I'll have issues :)

So, does Dunn's ejection cost me points?

Depends on if he gets suspended for whatever reason he was ejected.  I didn't see what happened.

He argued balls and strikes with the ump and got tossed. He was back in the line-up today so I don't think he'll get suspended.

Next question: Do I get points for Ubaldo's No-No, or just for his Complete Game.

Nothing directly...of course, you get the CG and you benefit in ER and ERA.

I have Ubaldo in one of my leagues.  I went down -16.5 points for the day.  Needless to say my hitters didn't show up!

Last year, I had Buehrle for his perfect game and Jonathan Sanchez for his no-no.

Thanks a lot Gardenhire..... Let's pull Lariano after 8 innings of near-flawless work, with a pitch count of 102- 70 of them for strikes. I was so looking forward to having TWO complete games pitched for me today...... Doesn't Gardy undestand that I needed that complete game???

I am looking forward to my offense making an appearance this year. My offense looks very good, but has been awful at best so far.

Ask yourself "what is the dumbest move possible?". Whatever your answer is, that is what Gardy will do. *COUGH COUGH PLAYING NICK PUNTO WHENEVER POSSIBLE COUGH COUGH*

Nah. No reason to overwork Liriano when the bullpen has had enough rest.

I don't think I'm in last anymore, guys :).

So, I have a set of postponed players, is it safe to start them for both games tomorrow, or should I look at replacing them after the first game, Am I even allowed to switch them out?

I was so tempted to pick up a nice new free agent -----> Luke Hughes!

But then I thought that would be mean.  Because I wouldn't trade him to any Twins fan for less than a Lincecum or Halladay!

I went +12 or something like that thanks to good offense and a great performance by Josh Johnson two days ago.
I went +16 yesterday thanks to good offense and a terrific performance by Liriano
I went -9001 today thanks to Cy Baker's preformance (and a lacking offense...)

sadface.

I didn't realize Zimmerman was back in the lineup today, so I had him on the bench. He went 3 for 4 with 2 HR...
I fail.

EDIT: I also mistaked this for the fantasy baseball thread.

That's ok, I figured Granderson would bounce out of his dreadful slump against the dreadful Orioles - So I sat Maryln Byrd for him. G-man went 0/4, Byrd 2/2 with a homer and two ribby's.

Chone is 0/3 right now, lets hope for 0/4 so I can beat your impressive move :D.

Sad day. My SLG for the day is lower than my AVG of the season.

Yeah, I was suprised when you picked up Chone, considering how poorly he's been the last few games. I figured you were looking for additional steals or something :) I was actually hoping to pick him back up in a week or two :)

I really needed a 3b beings Zimmerman is giving me a headache. I almost picked up Callaspo, as he has been on fire, but I decided I should probably get Figgins before anyone else steals him. He can't slump for too long....

I hope.

Unfortunately, Chone went 1/5 with a single. Although I may have benched one of the best performances all year: 3 for 4, 2 runs, 1 double, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 1 BB
