And the worst fans in the NFL are from...

...Kansas City. I'm sure most people that visit this forum are football fans and probably heard this story already, but in case you haven't, it's pretty sick. I'd say the odds that Cassel plays for KC next year are around the same odds that the Browns win the Super Bowl this year. I can see cheering for a backup to come in to play for an otherwise healthy QB that is playing horribly; as a Viking fan I've done that quite a bit myself the past several years. But cheering when a guy has been knocked out? That's just wrong. Most players say that their fans are one of the biggest inspirations for playing to win. If I was a member of the Chiefs, I wouldn't be inspired to play for the fans at all.

Bit surprised to come in and see Kansas City as having the worse fans. Totally unexpected as KC is usually touted as having some of the best fans in the NFL, especially towards a team that doesn't do that well. Usually no fair weather fans here, but this totally shocked me.

I thought they were cheering for the first down. That doesn't happen in KC a lot.

As a Ravens fan watching the game, it was definitely disconcerting.  But I know that people around here would cheer a Boller injury even today, and that's also a bit disheartening.

I know I've heard a few fans at M&T Bank Stadium call for players to try to injure other players, and while most of them would probably say they didn't really mean it if the player was injured, I find it sad how people can think seriously physically harming someone purposefully is acceptable even to joke about.  I am certain that this type of cheering would not be specific to the Chiefs, and that most Chief fans are probably appalled at it as well; some people just need to learn that football, however emotionally invested in it you are, is still just a game, and people are more important than it.

Lol Kansas City is far from the first city to do this, Philadelphia Cheers players getting injured on a regular basis going back to 1990 when they cheered Michael Irvin being carted off on a stretcher. They cheered when he was initially hurt, and again when the medical team brought out the stretcher. Browns fans cheered when Derek Anderson got hurt back in 2008. To go outside Football, Phillies fans cheered when Jayson Werth was injuried (this is baseball for those who don't know). Is it horrible and unforgivable? Yes. Does it make the Chiefs fan base the worst in sports? Not even close. That title will forever belong to Philadelphia sports fans, who not only cheer injuries but also threw snowballs at opposing fans, booed AND threw snowballs Santa Claus, threw batteries at their only black baseball players back in the 60s, and again at Cardinals outfielder JD Drew in 1999, threw glass bottles on to the field in protest of an umpires call back in the 1940's, attacked a St Louis Blues fan AND the teams head coach in the 70s, and in April of 2010 vomited on an opposing teams fan, who was an 11 year old girl. Their fan base is actually so bad that in 1998 the Eagles installed a Judge, court, and jail INSIDE THEIR OWN STADIUM to deal with unruly Eagles fans. Let that sink in. The teams fans were so bad they built a jail in the stadium.

You forgot this beauty from the Flyers which also illustrates how dumb Philly fans are.

To be fair, the Leafs player was being kind of a jerk by spraying that fan in the face with water.
