Trade Deadline Antics - Has anyone else's team given up?

Well, my Red Sox are back in last place again (which means World Series next year!  ;D ), and it appears we want to stay there for the remainder of this year. Our opening day 5-man rotation is now down to one.  :o

We traded our ace Jon Lester, as well as John Lackey, Jake Peavy and Felix Doubront. That just leaves Clay Buchholtz. We seem to have gotten some good young pitching prospects in return, so I'll get to enjoy watching the PawSox for the rest of 2014.  ;)

I'm excited about getting Yeonis Cespedes, since our outfield is pathetic. I'm hoping that they were just freeing up money to offer huge free agent contracts at the end of this season (possibly even getting Lester back). Oh well.... here's to 2015!  ;D

How did your team do at the Trade Deadline?

My wife is a hottie.

I was really confused about the Cespedes trade.  I know they are a "big market" team, but why have a fire sell just to go get more future big salaries.  I understand the dump then start over mentality, but there isn't a ton on the free agent market unless, they are "renting" their starters for the rest of the year to go potentially get them back.

All that being said, not sure why the Braves have basically stood pat.  I like Emilio Bonifacio, so that is cool, but he isn't going to get enough playing time to really make a huge difference with his speed.  Probably could have used a power bat in the outfield but B.J. costs to much to sit on the bench (take Uggla as an example).  Either way, just hope their pitching can continue to make up for the inconstant bats!
