Zecherias, Father of John

S/A: ...If Gabriel is in play, prevent the special ability of the next evil card played this battle...

In redemption terms, what does "played" mean?
Does played mean coming from the hand? or from the territory? or... both?

(with gab in my territory)If a rescue attempt is made with Zecherias and my opponent blocks with an EC from his territory, is that the next Evil card played? What if he blocks from hand?

It means both.  Zecherias will prevent the ability of the next evil card played in the battle.  Most of the time, that is the blocking EC, whether it comes from territory or hand or wherever.

I honestly don't know why he isnt played that often. He's a pretty powerful hero... since he can stop a LOT of obnoxious ECs from activating. (zimir, Red dragon, PotW, KoT, Uzzah...)

I guess because it requires Gab, and unless you splash silver, he is another taken slot for a single hero with a cool sa but small chance of a LS.

Out of curiosity, if I make a RA with him (and Gabe is in Territory) and, instead of blocking, they play CM, is CM prevented?

Dominants cannot be negated. So no.

His ability is powerful, but not nearly as powerful as the more common Teal Combos nowadays: ZTemple Priests, Phinehas/Zeal, etc. Also, Priests of Christ is a far better NT Priest, so he isn't even necessary for NT Soul access. I put him in a deck once, but he got the chopping block pretty early on in development.

He's super amazing in a Luke / John house in bethany deck, Him, Gabe and Elisabeth are all Luke heroes.
