Wonders Forgotten SA: Select up to four good cards from one player’s discard pile and remove them from the game.  The battle immediately ends.  Cannot be negated.

I'm a little rusty on battle ending cards. Does this just mean that the cards in the FoB at the time this card is played are what is used to determine the result of battle, or does this mean the battle ends and all characters withdraw? I believe it was the former, but that was with another card I've forgotten, so it may not be the general rule.

I recently asked a similar question. Basically, Wonders Forgotten pushes the battle into the resolution phase without allowing anyone else to play enhancements, or use any other effects. The battle immediately ends, then the resolution where you compare numbers, discard appropriate cards and rescue a Lost Soul, if applicable.

You're welcome. This actually won me a very tough game because I caught it. He thought the battle would end immediately and he wouldn't have to relinquish a Lost Soul. But I had him beat by the numbers and the card pushed the battle into the resolution phase. I almost didn't catch it and would have lost the game next turn. But I caught it at the last second and claimed victory. I would have let him take it back, of course, but he had no other plays.
