Title: Where do side battles go?

When I am having a side battle where do the other cards in the battle go?

In their own special corner. 

Where every you want really.  I would just move the main battle to the side.

Shouldn't the side battle, by definition, be the one to go to the side?

In case anyone is wondering from a rulings perspective (since we are in that board), unless otherwise specified the other battles are still in the field of battle (not the 'current' battle, but in the 'field' of battle), and are also in play.

Is the side battle created by Ambush the City set aside?

The side battle is not set aside, no, but the main battle in which you played Ambush the City IS set aside and not considered in the field of battle.

Side battle question: does idle gossip create a side battle or alter the current battle?

Idle gossip - Holder chooses a Hero in play to fight the rescuing Hero. The loser is discarded
