Title: Wheel Within a Wheel (FF2)
Post by: STAMP on June 05, 2012, 01:41:51 PM
Spoiler (hover to show)

Forgive me, but the advanced search doesn't seem to be working for me right now.  Furthermore, I'm not well-versed with most of the new rules.  As such, I have questions about Wheel Within a Wheel (FF2):

May I place WWaW on The Strong Angel during my prep phase?
If so, is the protection and site access CBN in the next phase if I RA with TSA?

Thanks  :)

I don't think it's CBN. The CBN applies to the place ability (otherwise TSA would unplace the enhance), but not the other abilities (I think).

That is the ruling as I understand it.  The placement of a card is CBN any turn afterwards, but the ability is negatable.  This was ruled way back when Abom was actually useful ;)

That is correct, the ability is not CBN so both TSA and Cap negate it, but the place is CBN. Also, quick note I can place Wheel on any angel that I control, not just the one that I searched for.

The only way to make W3 work on TSA or CotH is to play it off Michael in battle.

Or play it off Ezekiel or Paul during battle.

Basically, play it on a character that makes Enhancements CBN (or CBI)

Convert Josh the priest with gold shield to green or silver and play it during battle.

This thread is now about listing all the ways that Pol missed to make 3W CBN.

You can play it on a Sabbathed hero or a FioHP'd NT hero.

You can also play it on a WC hero with Ram's Horn active (assuming 3W is not being prevented).

You can play it on a Passover Preparationsed hero.

Ah but he didn't just say ways to make it CBN, he said

which there are more of those than just making it CBN.  You could negate Cap/TSA with Tower of Thebez or Holy of Holies and Wheel within a wheel would work on them to.

Can't you only place WWaW on a O.T. angel?

Can't you only place WWaW on a O.T. angel?

It only searches for an OT angel, but then it says "Place on your angel."  That means any of your angels.  And you don't even have to find an OT angel, you can just play this card, shuffle deck, and then place it on any angel you own and control.

Yep, I used to use it on NT Mike, but I switched for OT Mike because I can actually search for it.

You don't even have to shuffle your deck, you could just look through your discard (which could be helpful in many cases since you can't just look through there whenever you want)

And we can have 2 Wheels in a deck now?

Only in T2.

Only in T2.

In T2 you can only have 2, but there is no rule preventing you from having 2 or even 3 in T1.  You just have to have an appropriately sized deck (100+ or 150+, respectively).  The only restriction in T1 is for multi-brigade, which is defined as having 3 or more brigades.  Unless "multi-brigade" is going to be defined differently for T1 and T2, which is silly.

I didn't catch this before. If this is true, I could have 3 copies of Egyptian Magicians in my type 1 deck (154 cards), which I would be very happy to do!

Actually I believe the rule is still one one of dual-color cards in type I regardless of deck size.

As far as I can tell, the only distinction cards with exactly 2 brigades have is in T2 where they specifically have a rule allowing 2 per deck. There is no such rule addendum in T1, so we are left with them still falling under the "multicolor" category (not multi-brigade as Redoubter thought) and thus limited to 1 per deck. And yes, dual-brigade is considered "multicolor" otherwise Invoking Terror wouldn't be able to put itself under deck without some considerable work adding a 3rd brigade to one of the bi-color ones.

That's true. The current rule doesn't allow copies of Dual-brigade cards in T1, most likely because they didn't think it was nessessary.
