Musicians' Chambers vs Darius' Decree

If my opponent has Darius' Decree up and I have one of the new Territory class Hymns in Musicians' Chambers, can I play it outside of battle because its not coming from my hand?

Musicians' Chambers does say "as if from hand" so I'm not sure.

Musicians' Chambers (RA)
Special Ability: Your Musicians may use Enhancements from here as if played from hand, regardless of brigade.

Darius' Decree (TP)
Special Ability: Opponents may not play good Enhancements from hand, unless an Evil Character is in battle. You may discard this card to discard all Heroes in set-aside areas.

I don't know if that works or not, CS, but it is a seriously nice find.  Excellent job, Soldier!

The other obvious question that comes up, even if I'm allowed to play the ones in Musicians' Chambers that are already there, if DD is already up can I put them into Musicians' Chambers? (is putting enhancements into Musicians' Chambers considered playing?)

This also has Potential for Priests by combining Table of Showbread with Altar of Burnt Offering

Altar of Burnt Offering (Pi)
Type: Artifact • Special Ability: You may play up to two offering Enhancements during your preparation phase. They activate immediately, and then are discarded.

Table of Showbread (Pi)
Type: Artifact • Special Ability: On activation, place a good O.T. Enhancement from hand on this card. Your Priest may use that Enhancement as if played from hand, regardless of brigade. If this card is deactivated, return contents to hand.

That depends on the outcome of the "definition of play" thread. If Bryon's viewpoint wins, you would not be able to put enhancements onto MC with DD active as moving the card from your hand to the table is "playing" it. If Schaef's viewpoint wins, you would be able to place things on MC with DD active, so that would be a nifty way of getting around it for musical TC enhancements.

I'd say no in any case as MC says "as if from hand." I read that to mean treat in all ways as if they're being played from hand. Otherwise, "negate last played" would not negate anything coming from Musician's Chamber.

That does lend more credibility to the argument that "play" does not mean "put from hand on table," because Pashur the Priest can play from Storehouse. He wouldn't be playing it if play comes only from hand. Unless Pashur says "as if from hand," but iirc he doesn't.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

I believe right now we are leaning towards a card being played anytime it's special ability activates. So a card from MC would be played since its special ability activates.

We are looking at a multi-layer definition for 'Play' so while putting from hand to the table would be playing a card under 90% of circumstances, it wouldn't neccesarily be true, and there would be other ways of having a card be considered 'Played'

Darius' Decree specifically stops from playing from hand, that was my thought.  My thoughts were yes I'm playing a card from MC, but I'm not playing it from my hand (except that it says "as if played from hand)

Actually, you're thinking of Shadow. And he was actually one of the good arguments for the play =/= coming from hand viewpoint.
