I couldn't remember the ruling on this. If I attach Sword to King Pekiahiah who I set aside for one turn with Molech Worship and with Crown of Thorns active, does he still get discarded?

King Pekahiah
Type: Evil Char. • Brigade: Grey • Ability: 1 / 1 • Class: Warrior • Special Ability: Discard King Pekahiah after battle if King Pekah is in play. • Identifiers: OT Male Human, King (Israel), Royalty, Fought Earthly Battle

Molech Worship
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Grey • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Set Evil Character aside. Character gains 1/1 for every turn character worships Molech.

Sword
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Grey • Ability: 3 / 2 • Class: Weapon • Special Ability: If rescue attempt fails, opponent must discard a card from hand without using it.

Crown of Thorns
Type: Artifact • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: All Evil Characters in play decrease 0/3 while this card is in play.

•      Cards that increase or decrease abilities of a character only target the abilities of the character (face value plus gained abilities), not the enhancements or weapons used by that character. So, a 6/6 warrior class Hero with a 3/2 weapon is discarded after the battle  but a 6/6 Hero with Elijah’s Mantle activated is not discarded after the battle in which Hunger is played.

This is from the REG. Crown of Thorns would discard him in this situation. If you set him aside for 3 turns with molech worship so that his abilities without sword are 4/4 then we would be safe.
