Can you negate or interrupt "A New Beginning"?

s/a ALL players shuffle ALL cards in the field of play, set-aside areas and their hands (except this one) back into their draw pile.  Only cards in Land of Redemption and discard piles remain.  ALL players Draw 8 new cards.  Holder may begin a new turn.

You can prevent so you can negate before it is played.  Once it is played the ability carries out and it is too late to negate or interrupt because the battle (and whole turn) is over.  This is similar to end the battle cards like Heavy Taxes.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

That's an interesting rule, though; I wasn't aware of it.

Technically it is neither, it is just game rule that makes it CBI.

Correct.  It's not that the card has a cannot-be-interrupted power.  It's just that the battle is immediately ended and you have no opportunity to play a card in response.

I have had it ruled against me that because it was removing my opponent from battle he got the chance to interrupt/negate it like any other battle winner.

It's not "any other battle winner" because it's not really "winning" in the strictest sense.  Heavy Taxes is a card that ends the battle and that cannot be interrupted, regardless of who "wins" the outcome.

Is there a technical definition of "battle-winner?"

No, it's just a catch-all that people use for special abilities that defeat the other character - discard, capture, convert, whatever.

I always considered end the battle abilities battle-winners....Perhaps that's a bad thing.

They are. As long as you are winning the battle when you end it.

I would do that if, for example, I was using Hormah.

except that ANB would send AoD back into your draw pile as well.

If you use LaFS with AoD, you only get to discard one card, right? - since it was only one "draw."

quick question.  After you play it/shuffle everything/draw eight cards, do you draw another three cards since it's the beginning of your turn or is it like the very first turn where you just draw the eight?

I believe the person who restarts his turn gets to draw again. At least, that's how I remember doing it once, but I'm only like 75% sure on that.

If that's the case, I want to start all my games with three redeemed souls and half the opponent's defense gone ;D
