Watchful Servant (Di)
Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Yellow • Ability: 3 / 3 • Class: None • Special Ability: Protected from capture and conversion. Ignores Evil Characters with toughness greater than X. • Play As: Protect Watchful Servant from capture and conversion. Ignore Evil Characters with toughness greater than X. • Identifiers: Generic NT Male Human • Verse: Luke 12:37 • Availability: Disciples booster packs ()
If I attack and opponent blocks with low defence and then raises defence in battle, do i ignore?

Here is the exact scenario:
Clift attacks with The Generous Widow and I block with The Terrifying Beast banded to Emperor Vitellius. He then plays Hospitality of Martha to band in Watchful Servant. I then play Heavy Taxes. I think I had around 5 or 6 cards in deck and 7 or 8 in hand. What Happens???
Heavy Taxes (FF)
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Gray • Ability: 0 / X • Class: None • Special Ability: Opponent must discard a card from hand and you may draw a card. If used by an emperor, do this twice and end the battle. • Identifiers: NT, Depicts a Weapon, X = number of cards in your hand. • Verse: Romans 13:7

I would say yes. Using Zebulun as precedence, as I know Gabe ruled that was dynamic. And they have similar wording.

As long as you have a card in deck, WS will not Ignore Vitellus. The defense on Enhancements does not count for stuff like Zeb and WS.

Agreed with Pol. The characters aren't gaining numbers, the enhancements are seperate cards.

try explaining that one to a new player.

Seems like a simple concept to me. Initiative is determined by the added numbers, ignore targets individual cards and not the addiction of cards.

The exception would be enhancements like Answered Prayer which do add to the character's abilities (and it now has an errata to make it an identifier... woo-hoo!)
BTW, I am addicted to my cards. I have Sleep under my pillow hoping that the subliminal message will induce drowsiness. ;)

In my grammatical error's defense... Rangers.
