Title: Wat.
Post by: Rawrlolsauce! on November 17, 2010, 10:40:52 AM
My opponent blocks me with Wandering Spirit. I play Grapes.

-Does Grapes starting a second rescue force me to end the first battle?

Actually, I'm pretty sure based upon the recent instead rulings, playing Grapes with Wandering Spirit affecting the Orange demons results in it being basically another AoTL. It wont shuffle anyone else, and you don't get a new battle.

That's correct. Grapes on Wandering Spirit does not shuffle anything or start any new RA's.

+1 Wandering Spirit is put on the bottom of the deck "instead" of being discarded.  And since Grapes of Wrath has a cost of the discard in order to gain the benefit of shuffling the other characters, and since no evil card actually was discarded, therefore there is no shuffling.

As for the last sentence allowing a new battle, I am less sure.  My leaning would be to allow a 2nd battle if the player chooses.  However, if the first battle ended up a successful rescue attempt (by getting rid of Wandering Spirit), then the 2nd battle would be limited to merely being a battle challenge rather than a 2nd rescue attempt.

I understand that it becomes AOTL. I'm just wondering if Grapes ends the battle (assuming Pol is wrong, and I do get to start a new battle.)

The errata now says "If no heroes are in battle..." as a requirement to start a second battle.  Since there was no shuffle, the heroes are still in battle, and therefore there is no new rescue attempt.

It is marked as a play as. Disregard erratas that are labeled as play as.

EDIT: Nevermind. THe play as doesn't even say that (I didn't read it....). Although I do remember Justin posting about it......

+1 Good point.  Thanks for remembering that.  This is correct.
