Do dominant's not interrupt the battle?
The only way this would work is if you played a card like Swift Beings, which interrupts the battle and allows you to play the next enhancement, and you played Angel of the Lord before playing the next enhancement. Then his EC would be gone, the battle would continue, and Mask of Pride wouldn't conclude because there is no EC in play for it work. Jesusman

You have to wait until Swift Beings is finished before you can play a Dominant like Angel of the Lord, and since it isn't finished until after you've played your enhancement (or elected not to) Mask of Pride is either negated or reactivates (or whatever we call it) you won't be able to play Angel of the Lord to make negate Mask of Pride.

With the battle interrupted by Swift Beings, I could then opt to play Angel of the Lord before concluding Swift Beings effect of playing the next enhancement.Jesusman
