Uriah: Protect Heroes in your territory from discard. After battle, if David is in play, discard Uriah and an Evil Character. Discard abilities cannot be negated.
Sing and Praise: Force two Evil Characters to fight each other. Negate special abilities on evil Enhancements played in that side battle.
If he choses 2 of my evil characters to block, than could I play an enhancement to discard him? enhancements are negated but his ability is discard abilities CBN.
-
I think that since the side battle is a seperate battle, no you cannot, they will still be negated.
-
I think I know but will be silent to learn from those with greater knowledge than I.
-
Sing and praise would, I just dont think that the discard enhancements played in the side battle would.
-
From what I understand, It is the same battle phase, so uriah's ability would still affect the enhancements played that battle.
-
Yirgogo is correct. Uriah's ability persists through the phase, unless specified otherwise. This is not starting a new battle phase, so the current phase has not ended. Therefore, he makes all discard abilities CBN for the duration.
Discard abilities in the side battle are CBN.
-
If I remember correctly, Continuous effects in the main battle (Negate all, Protect X, CB's, etc) so Discard abilities are still CBN but you still can't discard Heroes in territory.

Doesn't it matter what the discard enhancement says, specifically where and if it can legally target Uriah.

There wasn't a question about targeting, that's a different matter. The question was about whether the discard abilities in the side battle were CBN or negated, and the answer is that they are CBN. Targeting rules don't change regardless, so you can still only target what could normally be targeted.
-
So where is Uriah when the side battle occurs? Is he considered in territory or battle?
I think he is considered still in the battle zone and cards that would target the battle could target him? or not? (ex. discard all cards in battle)

Actually he is asking about targeting as well if you notice the bolded section above. That is why it would matter what discard card he was going to use.

Uriah is in play and is in the Field of Battle, but not in battle. Cards like Deceit of Sapphira (Women's version) or Drawn Sword would discard Uriah CBN, due to the "Field of Battle" clause. Cards that say "Discard a hero" would discard Uriah, since he is in play; cards that say "Discard a hero in battle" or "Discard an opposing character" could not target him.

He asked about playing an enhancement to discard him, and the scenario had nothing to do with special targeting rules ;) He did not ask about in battle or field of battle or what types of cards could be used, just whether he could play something that would discard Uriah and whether or not it would be negated. Standard targeting applies as always, and nothing in the question was regarding a specific discard to be used, just discard in general.
Speaking of targeting, here are the definitions from the REG for those curious about what could target where. Uriah is in play and in the field of battle, but not in the 'current' battle as far as the side battle is concerned:
Battle
The phrase ‘in battle’ or ‘current battle’ refers to any cards in the current battle that can be either
the primary battle (rescue attempt or battle challenge) or it can refer to a side battle, NOT BOTH.
See also Battle Phase.
The phrase ‘Field of Battle’ refers to any cards in the Field of Battle including primary battle and side
battles.

I may as well say why I asked this...
I am going to put Uriah and Sing and Praise into my deck, and I will use them to force two of my evil characters to fight...
I play Canaanites Defense, and will have them use Wrath of Satan, it is CBN, and my heroes are protected: Look at Uriah's Special ability.
Another awesome combo!
-
You'd lose Uriah, and thus the RA, but sounds like fun.
-
Or you could use Great image! Uriah isn't discarded!
-
If you did go the Great image route, the opponents heroes would be discarded after the side battle finished, yes?
Great Image - All opponents' Heroes in play that are not in the Field of Battle at end of this battle must be discarded.
-
If you did go the Great image route, the opponents heroes would be discarded after the side battle finished, yes?
That is correct, because it refers to the end of the current battle. It would also be CBN still if used by Uriah.
