I thought the rule was limited to play... Hense the entire Sam strategy. (Set aside a David then search for another, when the first returns, one must be discarded)
They seem pretty lame as fighters maybe we should challenge them to a dance off or a redemption game

nope the rule keeps players from doing just that . . .this is also what makes water jar so brutal in t-2 bc your best character may be set aside and even though u have 2 more copies you cant put them in play until you deck out and that hero returns to draw pile. . . . thats why i will forever have a copy or 2 of darius decree in all my t-2 decks

Hmm... That's new... They must have just put that in to stop Sam abuse.

That rule has been around as long as I've been playing. And trust me, it has been awhile.

Red, the ruling was posted as of May of this year. The ruling I was thinking of is that if duplicate characters are in play/set-aside at the same time, one must be Discarded. That has been around forever, but the new optional card effect ruling is new.
