If I play a Feast, put one character set aside in Kereth Ravine, and get DD'd, do I get the benefit of the Feast when the one who survived returns?
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

The feasts all say "on return". So I'd say that as long as a return happens, then you'd get the benefit.

Hey,

All of the characters you set aside must return or you get none of the benefit.  If all of the characters don't return then you didn't complete all of the cost.  You must complete all of the cost to get any of the benefit.  So no.

I know people may not like me mentioning the new REG but this is another instance of a question that isn't addressed in the old REG and is very clearly addressed in the new REG.

With all the changes "happening" with the new REG I am not sure I will enjoy redemption any more after its released, its not even sounding like the same game.

That's a lack of understanding, not only on your part, but by many people.  Most of what the new REG does is bring additional clarification to things that weren't explained well/clearly in the old REG.  In most cases, it does not change anything, it only explains what was not well understood before.

When the new REG is brought up it's not mentioned to say "this is how we're going to change the game" but to say "this is how we're doing a better job of explaining this rule in the future" because it was not well explained before.

Since the last REG was produced abilities have been used in new exciting ways that were not anticipated when the "old REG" was made.  The question in this thread is a great example.  Prior to Priests I'm not aware of any way to set aside all your Heroes to gain a benefit.  The author(s) of the REG did not anticipate such a scenerio so they did not address it at the time.

I agree with this.  I think that Redemption as a game changes more when the new set of cards comes out each year than it will when the "new REG" comes out.  There will be a few tweaks that will make cards work differently than people are used to.  However, on the whole Redemption will remain the game that we all know and love :)

You guys are correct in your assessment of the REG. It is not being redone to change anything, but rather to clarify more fully (and clearly) how the game is played. The old REG was (for the most part) a reactive document that followed rulings. The new REG will be a little more proactive. Hence, you may find things you didn't realize  before. That doesn't mean it is a change.

By the way, the portion that was released is a draft, not a final document. Part of the reason it was released in the public area was to see how it would be received, what flaws might be present, and what additions might be made. This is a player's document, even though a couple of us maintain it. Hence, we ask for feedback. I hope nobody thinks we go into a backroom, make rules, and then post them. We work very hard to put out rules that are consistent with the way the game is played.

Essentially, if the new REG does change a lot of the rules you have played with for so many years, that probably means you haven't been playing it right. :3

You're very welcome!  But you know, if it weren't for my Windows Servers being as reliable as they have been, I could not have devoted as much time in the Rulings Section volunteering my 0's and 1's for the benefit of all.
