Solomon's temple was the first temple.  The Tabernacle was a glorified tent with the Ark of the Covenant inside.  Counter-intuitive, I know.

It's counter-intuitive that something that was not a temple is not a temple?

Generally, I look at "temple" as a place of worship, especially within Judaism.

Well, the way you look at things does not square with history.  There is a reason the Tabernacle was called the Tabernacle, and the Temples were called Temples.  And it is for this reason that references to "Temple" Priests and "Tabernacle" Artifacts and the like use those terms specifically.  That is the very definition of intuitive.  You start playing word games with it, and we end up at the point where people use the Scripture talking about treating the body like a temple, and arguing that every Priest is a Temple Priest by default because they all had a body.  Better to keep things simple and clean, and by the way, historically correct.

Isn't a temple a "permenant" fixture (such as made of stone)and the Tabernacle was just fixed down with pegs?(made like a tent out of cloth and furs)

Wow, strong response to an offhanded comment of mine.  I've got nothing against you.

I didn't say you had anything against me, and there was no content in that post stating or even implying that.  Absolutely nothing in the post was personal.  100% of the content was about what are historically and Biblically considered as temples, which is why it is NOT counter-intuitive to rule this way, as well as the ramifications of adopting broader and more subjective views of what constitutes a temple.
